I can't imagine trying to manage contacts for multiples services through my cell phone; the screen and option interface is just too kludgy to use often. With several groups of buddies on several different services, a poweruser would balk at trying to sort everything out. For mobile markets, PocketPC and PalmOS are a much better bet than WAP, especially considering that many new PDA phones are coming out that are based on these standard platforms. The environment allows for much better user controls for managing multiple concurrent conversations and list options. side note -- Wouldn't a standard Unix port for the engine work in both Linux and MacOSX? Then the only additional work for each platform would be building the skin components for the UI. This program rocks, I'd love to see it on a Mac! |
