Tees

Might different tees be played by different flights? Ponder that one...

RE: Tees

You mean tees for those who can follow through and those whose club head stop from the impact of the ball?

RE: Tees

It seems like the tees used should approximate which tees are used for handicapping.

RE: RE: Tees

It seems to me that the tees being played in the cmga tournaments make the members non competative in other tournaments. We play the white tees and get a 6 handicap and then we play in the city and get killed by players from other clubs that play the blue tees in their tournaments. A 6 at cave creek is like an 9 at any other club.
The cave creek golf golf course is a very fine track from the blue tees, but not much of a challenge from the whites.

That's exactly what I mean about the handicaps and the tees used, Duffer. The difference in the whites and blues is signifigant at CC from a handicap perspective.

RE: Tees

I have to agree with Duffer. I am a member at 500 Club also. They always play from the back tees for tournaments. Up there my best round is an 88, but at Cave Creek, because of some tournaments played from the whites I have an eleven handicap. I play in amateur tournaments with golfers from other states and have found out that handicaps earned at Cave Creek in no way match up to similar handicaps that others bring to the tournaments. I feel that all tournaments should be played from the blue tees to take advantage of the added length of the par threes. I know it adds at least 5 to 6 strokes to my game and represents a truer handicap index in relation to other courses with similar slope ratings
