observant - I think I missed something here...you think being cut is a strange practice? I haven't seen a lot of them, but I have only seen two that weren't cut, and they were babies that I changed the diapers of. One had a German father who was not circumcised and the other was black and I'm not sure why he wasn't, but his mother seemed pretty "earthy" but I would say it is a super small percentage of men in our country that aren't circumcised, don't you think?

I agree, circumcision in the US is the norm but aside from Jewish people, we are the only people that do it as the norm.
The only legit reason I've heard for doing it is that there is a slightly higher risk of penile cancer for uncut men.
The other reason people give for doing that to their sons is that it's easier to keep clean that way. I think that's BS. It is not difficult to pull back the foreskin and wash. It's like having your childs butt cheeks removed so their behind is easier to keep clean.
There are some drawbacks to circumcision. Aside from the occasional mangling due to crappy surgery or infection, many times, too much skin is removed. Ever see a guy with a hairy shaft? That's scrotum skin that got pulled up onto the shaft as the penis grew because someone botched the cut. Check it out sometime, you'll notice that the hair growth starts somewhere just under the scar.

Like I said, it doesn't matter to me either way. I'm cut and I'm neither happy nor mad about it. I wouldn't base my decision to date someone on whether or not they're circumcised but if I ever had a son, he would keep his foreskin.
