Posted By: All of you are idiots Posted On: Sep 6, 2005 Views: 957 | Shame on you Todd Rosenburg What a stupid poll to showcase people's stupidity. Blaming George Bush for a hurricane is ridiculous. I blame Todd Rosenburg for being a prick and putting up this poll. |

Posted By: Ted Posted On: Sep 6, 2005 Views: 943 | RE: Shame on you Todd Rosenburg You're an ass. The question was "Who's to blame for the disaster" not "who's to blame for the hurricain". A large part of that disaster stems from the delayed relief efforts. While it is true that any relief effort takes a couple of days to kick into full swing, there is no excuse for not having MRE and some rescue people sent to New Orleans within hours of the first levee breaking. Even a couple swamp boats and cases of water could have made a big difference. |

Posted By: Shampoo Man Posted On: Sep 6, 2005 Views: 924 | RE: Shame on you Todd Rosenburg Isn't it strange that the world's only remaining superpower has done such a poor job in mobilizing relief to that area? Is this the type of response to expect should a man-made disaster strike? It's foolish to blame one person, but there are a number of folks who should use this as an example that our nation's preparedness for catastrophic events needs quite a bit of work... Where's Giuliani when ya' need him!!! (sorry, felt I had to end on a light note) |
Posted By: Bush is either evil or stupid Posted On: Sep 6, 2005 Views: 921 | RE: Shame on you Todd Rosenburg Bush diverted 80% of the funds that were set aside to repair the New Orleans levees and to research what can be done in the event of a hurricane. Where did he divert them to? To the war in Iraq, or course! You know, the war that we don't have a reason to be fighting? (Oh sorry, it was because Saddam had nukes...no wait, it's because Saddam was DEVELOPING nukes. We've got proof!...no wait, it's because Saddam had ties to al Qaeda...no wait, it's because we want the Iraqi people to be free even though it's going to be based on Islamic law that denies women their rights...no wait, it's because uh......it's because uh....... it's because uh......I'll be able to give you a new reason as soon as Rush tells me one). |
Posted By: gezelligtexas Posted On: Sep 6, 2005 Views: 919 | RE: Shame on you Todd Rosenburg Bush isn't to blame for the hurricane. He's to blame for the disaster. Why were journalists able to get in and out of the city, but the freaking National Guard couldn't?! Why wasn't food and water dropped off at ALL the shelters IMMEDIATELY? Why weren't canoes flown in IMMEDIATELY? What happened to all the money that was promised to strengthen the levees? (It was diverted to Iraq) Where was BUSH during all of this? (He was on his 300th day a vacation since he took office!) Why didn't the Homeland Security secretary know what was REALLY going on at the Convention Center when there were journalists there SHOWING AMERICA how desperate things were there? (Or did he know and was deliberately telling us lies, not knowing that we were following it closely already?) Why did it take Bush so long to at least take a LOOK at the damage? Why isn't the ENTIRE National Guard being used for instances like this isnstead of being shipped off to fight in the Middle East? Argh. This whole thing is a big freakin' mess, and it's just stupid not to make the man who is supposed to be in charge accountable. Think he'll fess up? Ha. At least Sharon had the nuts to look his country in the eye and tell them if they were outraged, they should be outraged at HIM because HE is responsible. THAT'S a leader. I won't soil this clean website with my assessment of what Bush is. |
Posted By: GirlUWant Posted On: Sep 6, 2005 Views: 891 | RE: Shame on you Todd Rosenburg Dropping in canoes...you are a genius! That would have been a great idea! Maybe we should have a stash of them down in the gulf for occasions such as this all the time. I just hope the whole disease thing isn't going to be like the biblical plagues! YIKES! |
Posted By: Bakakage Posted On: Sep 6, 2005 Views: 890 | RE: Shame on you Todd Rosenburg And why does the same person have to post twice under different names right after each other? The mayor didn't do anything to mobilize busses to evacuate his own city when he knew this was happenening. An evacuation order was sent out, and the mayor knew that there were thousands who had no transportation, yet all the nearby school busses were left in the bus yards to get flooded and become unusable. Then he yells at bush for not getting them busses to take them out. These leveys have been in place 40 years with no repairs or upgrades, and thats not national government fault. Thats the city. They built themselves essentially in a fishbowl. They could do something to protect themselves but they chose to wait until disaster strikes then say its the fault of others. |
Posted By: Shampoo Man Posted On: Sep 6, 2005 Views: 854 | RE: Shame on you Todd Rosenburg Woah... Hold on a sec... I stand by my observaion that the response to New Orleans could have been handled better by a bit of coordination between state and federal governments. I can't however answer for that other guy. C'mon canoes??? Levee reinforcement??? To properly strengthen the levees would require several months if not years of careful planning and execution. So unless the powers that be had some magic crystal ball that could have predicted Katrina back in Jan. or Feb., I think that barking about diverted funds and lord knows what else is a little silly at this point. To tOdd - dude no more politicalness... it brings the crazies from both ends of the spectrum out of the wood works. Yeesh... |
Posted By: marilyn Posted On: Sep 6, 2005 Views: 853 | RE: Shame on you Todd Rosenburg Everyone should remember that history was made by our President concerning hurricane Katrina because this was the first time federal funds were authorized before a storm arrived. It is not the President's fault if the locals or anyone else could not figure out what to do to receive the help. THis storm was the worst ever. If you want to compare hurricane results: Here is the wreck of the Hesperus by Longfellow: http://www.algeo.net/poetry/page35.html If you want to get involved with the prayer effort you can go to here: The Presidential Prayer Team at Info@PresidentialPrayerTeam.org |
Posted By: adam Posted On: Sep 6, 2005 Views: 842 | RE: Shame on you Todd Rosenburg yeah you can do SOO much with prayer... only praying is like being as lazy as i am god wouldnt have sent the hurricane if he didnt want these things to happen |
Posted By: greg Posted On: Sep 6, 2005 Views: 832 | RE: Shame on you Todd Rosenburg yeah, adam... religious/bush people tend to do that a lot - focus on the positive of what they support and the negative of what they don't support instead of looking at things objectively. |
Posted By: STFU Posted On: Sep 6, 2005 Views: 831 | RE: Shame on you Todd Rosenburg get over yourselves. God doesn't sit up on a cloud directing weather. That being said I do pray. I pray every day that General Honore drowns G.W. in some flooded alley. |
