u state a good point but.....

the only reason canada sucked is because the best player in the league native of thunder bay, ERIC STAAL, is the biggest reason canada did the way they did. Staal would have won gold single handedly

dumb comment

Did you watch the olympics? Doan was one of their best players throughout the tournament and why are you talking about Maltby? He wasn't on the team. Do you really think that tournament would have been different if Dion Phaneuf and Jason Spezza were there? Sorry but those two guys may be good but they wouldn't change the outcome that much. I hate how everyone thinks that It was such a disaster that Canada didn't win. It's a two week tournament without any practice time as a team prior to it. There is so much talent on almost all of the teams that just about anyone can win it. I guarantee if they had another tournament next week. Their would be at least 2 different medalists. That's the way it works in single game knock out style playoffs. You think the best team wins the super bowl every year? Rarely does that happen.

hockey

I am canadian & i have to admit i am ashamed of the team we took to turin.i admire what gretzky did as a player but in any other sphere than as a player,he has no respect from me.to force a pair offokin grinder like doan & maltby on the team instead of say spezza or phaneuf if totally ****ty.He is the primary reason of team canada's failure. If he wasn't doan's coach you think doan would have had the slightest chance?just like the other olympics: never in a million years...the 2nd reason team canada lost is Pat Quinn.he carried his negativity to team canada & wasn't able to squeeze **** from his players, canada shut out 3 times?oh please...Gretzky's full of **** & i hope he goes to jail for the betting ****,make another pete rose out of the ****er hahaha take care boys, very entertaining to read your lines

Timmy strikes back! haha

Be careful, though. Your momma and poppa might just get jealous.

USA didn't have any expectations. I think I'll be OK. =)~
I think poor Timmy is hurtin' real bad because of blown expectations north of the border. =)

Your mother wasn't complaining last night when I blew my load in her face. By the way, how does it feel to have american hockey in shambles?

PS

Timmy seems to be taking the Team Canada loss a bit hard. Probably teetering on a roof-top ledge sucking on the barrel of a shotgun with the same zest as when he's blowing his pappa. lol
I got 3 words for ya:
PULL THE TRIGGER. =)

Drew...re: Lundqvist.

I just wasn't sure how he'd handle the pressure playing for his country on such a stage as the Olympics. Especially after what happened to Tommy Salo in 2002 against Belarus. The whole country prolly had the guy under a frickin' microscope after that debacle! lol
I figured he'd be OK in the preliminary round, but I thought he might slip up as Sweden got deeper and deeper. But the guy had ice in the veins. Incredible performance.
I agree with you about Nittymaki. What a tournament he had! Robert Esche is an after-thought at this point. Nitty's been VERY solid for Philly and his performance for Finland, I think, solidifies his status in Philly.
As for Sid 'the kid'...I don't know. 2 years is a lot at this early stage of their careers. But I gotta stand by what I said that Ovechkin is DA MAN! lol I understand Crosby is 18 to Ovech's 20, but I just don't see him ever becoming the dominant physical force that Ovechkin already has become. His stature and game (to this point) don't seem to point in that direction.
Time will tell...

Lundqvist

he DID come up big, very true. to be honest, it was no surprise at all, just look at what he's done for the rangers? unseated a solid goalie in Kevin Weekes and helped the Rangers to a 2 point division lead. i dont know why he was a "question mark", he's proven he can carry the load this season. but im bothered that no one has mentioned antero niitymaki. going into the gold medal game, the guy had shut out 3 of his last 5 opponents.

World War 3? Come on....what the hell are you talking about? Canada and the US have been allies for a LONG time.....no US army will invade Canada.....will you listen to yourself? i think you may need to see a psychiatrist to prescribe some drugs to quell your developing paranoia.

Steve, re:Ovechkin

I agree with you in that ovechkin is better than crosby. but keep in mind that he is 2 years older than sid.....the kid's only 18. i think the main reason ovechkin is better right now is because he's older....2 years difference, this early in a career, can make a big difference. so right now, yea, alex is the better player, no question. but i think we have yet to determine who will have the better career.
