RE: the holiday tree

it is a CHRITMAS tree. The christmas tree has nothing to do with chritianity so they can back the **** off right now! I don't think they would be so willing to change it from a menora to holiday candles or from a dradle to a holiday wood top.

RE: the holiday tree

"The christmas tree has nothing to do with chritianity"

A tree used on the holiday, named after the holiday has nothing to do with the holiday.
Thus, by your reasoning going to church and beliving in jesus has nothing to do with the christians, and they have nothing to do with christianity? I belive the first part, most people go to church to have someone put a spin on a book they should read on their own and to pay them to do it, and be told that if they don't show up next week they will burn in hell. It's a great buissness.

It was a Yule tree. The christians just changed the name to help convert the pagans. (when that didn't work they burned us on them)

Anyway, for more info if you want it.
(warning, it may **** some of you off about the holidays, the truth hurts, and granted things do change)

you expect us to go to a witch site? let alone believe what its saying. just from what you're saying..i doubt they changed the name just to convert pagans...that makes no sense....but i suppose, a simple name change would make it easier to change those retard's minds

RE: the holiday tree

I haven't even put up a tree this year, and I don't even really care. We have two freakin' cats and I just know that at some point, the whole thing probably would have been laid out on the floor with the little Calico going, WTF? Did I do that?

RE: RE: RE: the holiday tree

From what I've seen, and the few Jewish people I've talked to, its not Jews who are getting so uptight about this crazy political correctness, its other white christians.

What I don't get is, why would my open display of the christmas spirit hurt anyone's feelings? I wouldn't mind if someone put a huge menorah out on their lawn.

"doubt they changed the name just to convert pagans"

This is a historical fact. At the time when the christian church was spreading, most of the world was dominated by some kind of paganism or nature worship. Pagans in Europe would go to a tree and wrap things around it and give it gifts. The crhistians came along and told them they could do it, as long as they did it in the name of Christ, or whatever.

Adam, I don't realy give a **** what you think, you don't matter, your close minded and a racist.

LOL GUW, same for me. No tree this year. Last year the cats had it all over the place.

STFU theo, **** you have sucked this week.

I'll get to you in a sec Jesus.

Thanks vfdfghsdfgbsdfb.
(deep breath)
Around December 21 the sun is at it's lowest point. Also the start of the new year. In myth, this is the time of the death of the old Sun King and the birth of the new one in the form of the Divine Child. (in Wales called Alban Arthuan)
The decorated evergreen tree symbolizes the offerings made on the Tree of Life, while the holly represents the Holly King, or one aspect of the God, who rules this season. Candles and lights on the evergreen tree represent the growing light in the darkness.

You can also look up Samhain if you wish.

ANYWAY, all that aside. I do belive Jesus was a real person. Just mabie not the all powerfull god the church wants us to belive. I mean he had a wife and kids, god with a wife and kids? What, he didn't get any good pussy upstairs? For me he fits in the same category as Gandhi or Martin Luther King Jr. All wondering why we cant just get along and be good to each other.

If you feel comfortable in who you see as your god and you don't hurt anybody because they belive in some other invisable person, the all is well.

Have a happy hollidays no matter who you worship and may this year treat you better than all the last. That is truly meant. Much better than a card from the person who sits behind you in church but dosent give a ****, right?

RE: the holiday tree

James, that shit is all superficial anyway. Whatever the holiday is, it's about tradition and getting together with family. If I was Jewish and someone told me Merry Christmas, I would just tell them Happy Hannukah. And I really doubt, given their past, that they would want to stir up the anger of Christians who have a potential for genocide and racism (evident in adam).

RE: the holiday tree

Those cataracts really are f**king with your perception of the world James. Im no Christian, but i don't think any christian believes Jesus was a god, or a demi-god. Wasn't he the son of god? maybe the carols hold the answer.

As for the whole 'christmas' tree argument, this is the third time allready! does anyone care? I don't.
