(Whereas before I was more inclined to believe). So, I ask, do you think pushing what I know; trying to get others to see there is no God, is just a bad as being a pusher of some religion? The book by the way was 'The "GOD" Part of the Brain' by Matthew Alper. |

I don't think there could really be such a thing as an athiest know it all...due to the fact that if you believe in God or have any other faith, it is just that...faith...and it isn't based on anything that you can really see, which is why I think the whole Santa Claus thing is such a strange concept...you tell your kids that you are celebrating Jesus's birthday - which they can't see, and tell them that Santa is bringing them a present - which they can't see, and then later you tell them that Santa isn't real, but that Jesus is...that is so dumb...if you tell your kids that Santa is real - YOU ARE LYING TO YOUR OWN KIDS! Telling them that Jesus is real is completely different because it is based on your faith...so if you are trying to argue your side with someone that has a faith, you probably aren't going to get very far. |

By being a sort of Atheist know-it-all I did mean someone who tries to argue science with someone who believes the universe was created only 6,000 years ago as the bible states. But I appreciate all the input! I now understand that it might not be right to try and push my non-religion on people (Especially people who believe their faith has made them a better person). I'm completely non-denominational, and I like it that way. I can't stand people who try to stuff their stupid beliefs down my throat, be they Christian, atheist, Hindu, or whatever. I like making up religions in my spare time. Some of them get pretty in-depth, while some of them are silly. I don't know what lies after death, if anything. I don't know whether or not we can know the truth. It really doesn't matter to me, and it's gone a long way to give me peace of mind and happiness. |
