Don't feed the Hallmark beast. My man and I exchange monkey cards (the same ones for 8 years)and are happy to skip this fake holiday. I'd much rather get hand picked flowers from my husband in April just because he's thinking of me rather than because Hallmark told him he had to. Surely there are other women who feel the way I do. |

Okay...I guess part of why we like Valentine's Day is because we love the whole romance thing...our church has a Valentine banquet every year and it is just lovely. I especially love seeing couples that have been married a long time still enjoy each other, and want to do nice things for each other. I don't think Hallmark is the only company making out like a bandit...have you seen the Kay Jeweler commercials? WOW...they know how to spread it on thick. I got my Valentine a Rose Bowl replica #10 Vince Young Texas Longhorns jersey because he loves the longhorns! |
