But the way people percieve romance as buying something kinda stabs at the idea.

I don't know. Whenever I pull out a chair or open a door I normally get a weird look.

Last year I had a really good friend and we bought each other Valentines day stuff. I know she hates cut flowers so I a bought her purple violets. Her favorite color and flower. Her boyfriend wasn't happy. He got her chocolates and roses. She's brand specific on chocolate and she doesn't like cut flowers. Anyway, she married him and we haven't talked since.

I know what you mean James. I wrote a beautiful poem for a girl that I thought needed some attention on Valentine's Day, and she wouldn't even read it. of course, it was written in my own ****.
