Neil the Terrier

No the best game due to conditions probably but my vote goes to Neil for being tireless all night. He was probably our best attacking player and made runs all over the place in a bit to make some space and movement. Well done sir!

grumbles

Found last night a really difficult game, not so much cos I ended up on the losing side for the first time since the Queen Mum was winchin' but because we started off well and threw it away.

Well played to the Mince though for getting their arses in gear, dragging us all over the place and spotting those difficult to find enormous spaces in our defence. I could have given the my mom to either Jon or Stuart, but plumped for Stu cos of his goals.

tireless?

I can assure, Mr Cochrane, "tireless" was definitely not the word, last night!

I was bloody knackered the whole game through!

I'm getting old

Well it was another tough decision. During the game I contantly pondered over who was playign the best (well, let's face it, I wasn't doing much else for the team so I thought I'd get a head start on the MOTM). Initially I'd decided to go for Creeky - he'd scored a few good goals, been his usual spidery self in goals and he hadn't hurt anyone (in particular he hadn't hurt me). BUT then he started with his find orbit with the ball crap so that ruled him out.

We fought back to level the game and I decided that Foxy had been our inspiration and that I was going to vote for him. Then Foxy decided to try and beat 4 men whilst standing in front of his own goal and he were behind again so Foxy got dropped like a stone from my candidate list.

I was in a quandry... who to vote for?!? Iain, Karl and Neil were all contenders (by this time I'd became a bit fed up with the Mincies and wasn't going to vote for any of them - I'm a bit bitter that way) but I decided that I'd vote for me. After all I don't play that often. The ball got squared to me and I was just about to score, to equalise and to confirm my man of the match status when...

Anyway moving on (needless to say I had a Tom Barker moment), and to make a very long story into a slightly less long one I decided to vote for Karl. He played solid, didn't do anything stupid and managed to offer more movement than the rest of our team combined. I'm too bitter a man to vote for any of those opposition bounders who beat us.

A step back in time

I thought last nights game was a lot more like the ones we had about a year ago: not so much of that running about nonsense as of late, Stuart v Foxy for who can score the most goals, and some good old fashioned Creeky Controversy®!!

I voted for Stu this week, despite having the sun in his eyes for an hour he still managed to side step and shoot some great goals to get his team back in the game and eventually win it.

Normal service has resumed....

It funny that in the last 6-8 weeks since 'The Gumshield' hasn't played, there hasn't been an ounce of controversy or even a ball orbited out of the park (well apart from my spectacular blooter a few weeks back)...Well normal service resumed again last night, which I won't go into cause I'll just get upset and angry and blah, blah, blah....

Anyway, we lost a game that we had won in a 5-10 min spell were we just lost our focus/markers/vaginity. I also made a few mistakes that that cost us goals but hey..sh1t happens....

As for MOTM, well thought about giving it to Jon then Neil but i've opted for Stu for the goals he scored that turned the game in their favour..

motm

I plumped for Jon, who's composure and solid midfield game helped overcome the early tatty advantage. All the whites I thought played very well and heads didn't go down when the tatties were rampant. A few soft goals almost let the blues back in it - but they also had a few open goal chances that they fluffed, so a deserved win for white i think.. especially enduring sun blindness for an hour!

Blues best player I think was Neil on the night and I also thought Tamba played well scoring some good goals for them.

Creeky.

MOTM

Went for the Creekster for his triumphant return. We did well to battle back from 3 or 4 down and in the end the Creeksters shooting prowess won us the game and a few compensation claims for those drivers unfortunate to have parked within the 100 yard radius of pitch 8.

....and into the sun!

tricky one - both teams had their moments. i thought our chance had gone when we went three or so down but all credit to us for soldiering on.
a few good performances from each team but went for creeky who was pretty solid and popped in a couple of goals at crucial times.

Sunglasses not needed!

A scorcher last night and I'm not talking about some of the play. All credit to all of us for lasting the 60 mins and to the Mincers for pulling back a 5 goal deficit!

My MOTM goes to Stuart who quite clearly demonstrated that he was the coolest guy infront of goal and that sunglasses were not required.
