RE: does anyone really care about the immigrants?

Only if you don't mind doing everything yourself...

I'm more worried that were one step away from closing our boarders to everyone trying to get in, which is one step from closing them to out going also. Sound familiar? It should. Lots in common with another form of government that we are heading towards. How much longer is the American people going to let Bush do whatever he wants because of 9/11? Somewhere along the line he must be accountable for his actions.

immigrants live tax free, and now they want more rights! why should they have more rights than us? if you're gonna live here, you should pay the friggin taxes...we'd be a little bit better off and a little bit less ****ed off about them

and also learn the english language

I don't pay taxes, well not for working anyway. How many of us know our neighbors languages? Really adam, do you know Spanish, or French? They do learn the language, but the accent never goes away.

Are you really that stupid? There's millions of mexicans in this country that speak spanish only. In every state. Alot here in Wisconsin.
You dont pay taxes because you dont have a job, you lazy asshole.

RE: does anyone really care about the immigrants?

Few of them don't. BTW, I make money selling chain maille, so I own my own buisness. Dragonmasters Chain Maille. Which has proved to be harder to get started than I thought, so I am in no way lazy.

Again, the issue is the closing of the boarders, it's not going to help stop them. You could line up a person every foot and people will still find how to get through. Spending money like that is just tossing it away. That and it sends a bad (like we need more) picture to everyone else. Were one step away from stopping all trafic in or out of the country.

A few million, that is. You gotta give those mexicans credit, they know what state to stay away from. You only think it's a few, because there's only a few in WV.
You don't have a business haha. Just because you sold some things on a table outside your house, doesnt mean you have a business.

RE: does anyone really care about the immigrants?

OK, I'm not going to argue language with you, I really don't know how many of them cant speak English, just that I haven't met one around here that cant. Happy, you won that one.

As for Dragonmaster's Chain Maille. I make a product that sells for profit, and I have made a profit. (although small so far, but well see after Saturday) I don't sell it at my house, I do sell it a local market, costs me $30 a month to use the space. It's weekends only, which is good cause it gives me a week to make more stuff, thus keeping a good stock ready, and a rent that low keeps costs down. I make necklaces that sell for $10-$15 each, costing me less than $1 each and an hour at most. Not the best, but it's a start. I'm not the only one their either, I try to set up shop between the guy that sells swords and the lady that sells leather goods, thus maximizing potential customers. I am also the only person I know of around here who sells this stuff, so any LARPers or ren fair people have to come to me.

I'm working for myself doing what I like (I couldn't get a job as a wizard or dragonrider, lol) I get to indulge in fantasy and make money at it. I'm outside with friends and other people who like my work. Did I mention I get money out of this? It's also great for me even if I only broke even, you people know I spend WAY to much time inside.

BTW, what is it you do again adam?

RE: does anyone really care about the immigrants?

actually adam, MOST of them get jobs, help our economy, and PAY TAXES. Even though they pay them under fake social security numbers the money still goes to the government. We got 6 billion dollars from fake social security numbers last year. and where there are free english classes offered, they go.

RE: does anyone really care about the immigrants?

so tuxedo, you say that identity theft perpetrated by these undocumented people makes it ok since they do pay some taxes? remember that next time you get denied credit because some illegal used your social security number to get credit and then never paid the bills.

dragonmaster: if you're running a business and not paying taxes... you're committing felony tax evasion.

RE: does anyone really care about the immigrants?

Yea, so? It's mine, I started it, I make the stuff, the government has nothing to do with it. When I buy supplies they get theirs from the taxes I have to pay then. If thats not good enough, then **** them. Land of the free and all that. Besides, what are they going to do, put me in prison so I can get my eyes fixed?

RE: does anyone really care about the immigrants?

If you are going to have a business, then you should do it legitimately from the get-go, so then if it takes off, then you have already been doing it right. There is a line between hobby and business...not sure what it is, but if you are going to make more than X-amount for the year, then you do need to report that. You need to be keeping receipts for your rent, your supplies, etc...there are also all kinds of benefits that you could get, too, for having your own business at home, so it might actually HELP you with your taxes if you have another job, for instance, since it is in your home, then you could potentially write off part of your rent, you could definitely come out ahead by claiming 44.5 cents per mile for mileage to go buy supplies...you can potentially write off part of your utilities, too. Also, if you need to buy a new, say, desk, for office records, or for a workstation, then you can write all of that off, so that in the end, your company might not even make any money for the first few years.

I had an in-home daycare when my kids were little, and the tax advantages were so awesome, it made it much more profitable than if I had been out working and paying for daycare. I have always done my own taxes and I found that if you are willing to just spend a tiny bit of time reading and keep receipts and stuff, then it is not difficult or scary at all.

Our tax structure is set up pretty good to help you with an in-home busines, if you are willing to follow the rules.

My parents never went to college, were both raised on farms, but my dad was smart and bought a business when he was 27, makes wise decisions and has been very successful.
