I wouldn't say...

...stalking the special guests. Some people are relly huge fans of a certain voice actors. Like me and Vic.

Bad Locals

Only one convention in all of Wisconsin and MN that I know of, and guess where I live. :( I think there is one in Iowa, but that's even further away for me than the one in Eau Clair. *sigh* Lucky east-coast peoples who can get to Otakon and thus show off pictures and have bragging rights to awsome costume sightings, guest speakers, merchandise finds and costume contest winnings.

Of woe and future plans

Unfortunately, there are hardly any conventions about for the North of England-they all tend to be in either the major cities down south, or up in Scotland, and horrifically expensive to attend.
We were planning to attend one in Scotland this year with our university's anime society, but the funding fell through.
But, my sister and I do have plans to Cosplay as Yumiko and Heinkel for our university anime society next year!

Yeah, I should've had a "volunteer" category, not to mention a "karaoke" category and a "stock up on pocky" category. No disrespect meant ^_^

Karaoke?

Why do you not have karaoke singing on this poll?

When you vote, click each box that applies. :)

Yeah, Chris was there. /Anderson/ wasn't and I was thinking characters only, not people, hence why I wrote that. I do hope Chirs /and/ Anderson can make it next year!

We didn't win any awards for cosplaying, but they had the contest set up really poorly as opposed to the previous years. I hope they go back to the way they first had the contest set up next year.

Con Fun

I've been to every AnimeBoston except this year's and I went to last year's Otakon.
I pretty much do cosplay, and stalk whatever guests I like. My first year, I was all about panels, but really, they can be boring, unless you're REALLY into whatever its about. I ran a FFX-2 panel at AB'04, and that was great, but it really does depend on who's there.

Cosplay has never let me down though. Even as a slightly more obscure character. And cosplayers are some of the best people. Especially ones willing to hug, those are my favorites.

Con plans

I've only been to 2 cons...well, one con for two years. First year, I cosplayed Yui from Fushigi Yuugi. I only did that because a friend of mine said I looked like her. I still have no idea who she really is, or what her story's about.

And last year, I was Seras and I rocked.

Can't go this year. Have to work. :P

Multiple?

Hm... can we vote multiple times? I wonder... 'cuz a few of these apply to me... I must test out this voting mulitple times thing... hm.
Milady Sir Catherine, congratulations on finding yet another SCA-er.
And whatever do you mean 'our Anderson couldn't make it because of work'? He was there, he just didn't have his uniform yet. Alucard and Seras however... *sigh*
=^_^=

Squeeee....SCA!!!

Whomever posted about the SCA, e-mail me at tharen_bria@hotmail.com. I'm in the Kingdom of Northshield, Shire of Rokecliff. My name is Amata Cromwell and I plan on registering it sometime this summer along with a shield. For the rest of you who are wondering what retroactive medival world I live on, nvm. :)

Anyway, I must agree that volunteering should be an additional catagory in the poll. I don't do so at cons myself, but I've volunteered extensivly at other events/organizations and know how important an experience it can be.

Never been to Otakon and most likely never will be to a MAJOR con. I live in Wisconsin (for not Scadians who couldn't guess by my above SCA adress) and there are NO large cons within a days drive. In fact I don't know of any within two days. Cons tend to congregate on the East and West costs near major cities, so unfair.

I did make it to the No-Brand con in Eau Clair Wisconsin this past Spring though and my friend and I cosplayed Walter and Sir Integra. Our Alucard, Seras and Anderson couldn't make it because of work.

If anywone /does/ know of anime conventions in WI, Minnesota, Iowa or Illanoise, let me know! I have relatives/friends in the other states so I might be able to get to them. The only con I know of is the Midwest's BIGGEST game con: Gencon, near Milwakie. Close, but not my thing as Otakon would be.

Have fun all of you that are getting to go! Remember us lonely, boondocks living folks who have no way to go. :)

Ever hopeful

Should I have voted in the categories that will apply next year? Unless SCA events count, in which case just mark mine 'all of the above' ;)
