Eastern Conference Semifinals : 1) Buffalo Sabres vs 4) Ottawa Senators - Senators in seven = Great series this one will be. Senators defense is too much for the Sabres' squad. |

Something's gonna give now, though. I have Detroit taking out Anaheim. Too much talent! (Didn't I say that in the last round???). Ottawa is looking really good now. Ottawa is a nemesis to Buffalo. Although Buffalo has not been putting together sixty minutes of decent hockey, they are very deep and seem to find ways to get it done. This one is too close to call. Should be a very good battle and I say it can go either way... |

The Ducks are defense first, offense second. The Wings understand that puck possession means control of the game. They do it better than anybody. Red Wings Defense : The Ducks concentrate on a lot of defense before even thinking about any kind of offesnive attack (many teams falling into that silly mindset). They play defense well, but in trouble when a few goals go by. Wings have solid defensemen, solid backchecking, and of course Hasek. Even Style : Watch puck possession in this sereies. That's what dictates how a game goes. Wings know that offense makes the opposition react to what you're doing. Possession means control and scoring opportunities. Ducks are victim of defensive coaching (which is why they failed to make the playoffs the year after having their great run to the finals). Red Wings Goaltending : Hasek. End of story. Red Wings Physical play: This is easy. Ducks one of the best in the league in this category. Ducks |
