What happens if gator, fish, ferret or human wins?

I see 3 cat prizes and 3 dog prizes? What happens if the alligator wins (besides the owner getting arrested)? What about the fish, ferret or pet roommate?

Well, the rules state the prize will be based on the species. What do you give a tarantula, anyway?

I had a friend who was a full-blooded American Indian (I believe Nanticote); I went to one of their tribal pow-wows once and enjoyed some delicious alligator stew. Tastes just like chicken!!! I didn't know at the time you could keep gators as pets.... or CAN you???

Just mentioning that so this gator will know how lucky he is to be a pet, not part of a recipe.

As for the roommate, how about a bottle of Jack Daniels? They could probably use it after finals.

Excuse you? My alligator has her legal license and paperwork, thank ya very much.

If you read the rules and fine print, the winner of the other animal contest helps decide what the prize will be.

Please don't insult others for having unusual animals.

BTW:

Yes, the base of an alligator's tail is extremely tender and tastes like chicken.

You can imagine our plans if she out grows the apartment.

You outta stop by and give her a lick.

Hey, no insult intended- I think it's great to have unusual pets (no matter what they taste like). The question of what to do with a full grown gator is a valid one, however- won't it be dangerous?

I mean, part of what made that crazy (IMO) Aussie guy so interesting to people was that he was wrestling crocs, not, say, gerbils.

Which, incidentally, taste more like Cornish Game Hens.

well, no one seems to have mentioned it, but i think it's a little unfair carrie was allowed to enter since this is a PET contest and she isn't a pet. i mean, the prizes are supposed to be for the animals, not for people--odd todd hosts other contests during the year for them. i guess humans can enter the contest from now on as long as they dress up?

"but i think it's a little unfair carrie was allowed to enter since this is a PET contest and she isn't a pet. "

Talula, Talula, Talula.... since when has anybody been concerned about "fairness"? I read on another post that one pet picked up 200+ votes in ONE DAY, which seems a little.....askew; that is, if it's true .

If that's the case, this is really more about how quickly you can cast those votes- may the fastest trigger finger win!

I think dressing up a human as a pet conveys the humor that this contest is SUPPOSED to be about.

Besides, as to Carrie's relationship to her roommate- who knows WHAT goes on behind closed doors at the dorm, eh? What happens at college, stays at college.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course...

speaking of fast, carrie got 100 votes yesterday over an hour, and just got 60 or 70 over 30 SECONDS or something now...

that's a slave, not a pet, technically, if you're referring to S&M
