I'm in the midst of studying for my MCP exam, by the end (or close to the end) of this month I'm going in to take the test. I can't believe there is an actual test and certification for installing Windows XP. How could you not pass that? If you do pass and actually find a company that finds the certification impressive, let me know. I am sure I can dazzle them into a VP position or maybe the CEO spot. |

Your comment about the pee test thing made me laugh. The test covers a multitude of windows based operations, like: RIS (remote installation services which is kinda stupid since ghostcast works MUCH better), active directory, shared permissions, printer networking and sharing....the list goes on and on. I'm hoping to get a score around 850 or so (which I think is like a B or an A). Also, in my college english class (090, prerequisit) I have essays to do allllllll semester long. So if anyone here is bored and they'd like to review my papers tell me! peace and love |

Having an A on that test and $8 will get you a fancy cup of coffee at Starbucks and that is about it. You will know just enough to **** up a network so that a real administrator can be called in to fix it. I mean come on. They actually have to train people on how to do sharing? Holy ****! After I grab that cert I'm progressing towards my 290 MCSA, then after that it's my MCSE. All the while I'm going to college so that I can eventually grab a four year degree in Computer Information Systems. Even if I only had my MCP I could still land a kick ass job that pays well, and there's also the chance that the entry level job I get into will help me progress in a company. The knowledge obtained through an MCP course prepares you for MUCH more than simple installation procedures and sharing permissions. Also, **** the guys from Geek Squad, most of them don't know jack about what they're doing. Given there are some bright ones, but the majority of them are mere bodies filling the void. peace and love |

I guess it depends what you consider kick-ass though. Even for MCSE, the job market is not what it once was but you should find something descent. Personally I would rather have a sharp stick in my eye than be stuck in a hot server room with a lot of loud computers and no windows (the ones with glass) all day. No wonder you need to get stoned all the time. |

I would make more than enough with one of those jobs to be very well off during college. You're totally wrong, the job market is still very broad for people with their MCSE. The demand for IT increases greatly every single year. I'm also going to grab an A+ cert and a Network+ cert. I'm perfectly fine with being in a server room, I preferr blistering heat, and I have a love for computers. I feel a very deep connection with PC's, and especially networks. There's always something new and facinating to learn about them, and there's an endless ammount of uses that they have. So wes, please stop talking about **** that you know absolutely NOTHING about. I enjoy some of your humor, but you're only embarassing yourself here.... peace and love |
