The Wii would rank above the older ones but the PS3 smokes the Wii. The DS doesn't even compete with the other 3. For my money the PSP is a better value for portables. |

I considered the DS because it had a better game selection but she only plays the Tetris like games so it didn't matter. What was cooler for the PSP was that it can also be an MP3 player, a photo viewer, and a video player. I found some free software that converts regular video to PSP format. The web browser is kind of cool but it is a pain in the ass entering long URLs. I would only recommend the PS3 if you have a good HD TV otherwise you get nothing over the PS2 graphics wise. All the new advancements are nice even for playing PS2 games but they aren't worth the extra $450. The real advantage comes from being able to play games in 1080p HD and being able to watch BluRay discs. The extra wireless remote makes the PS3 as good as or better than any standalone BluRay player for less money. |

If you want something that can not only play games but do a ton of other stuff, and have an accordingly higher price, then PSP is the way to go. I don't see any reason to buy an inferior game system for more money because it'll play music too, though. |

PSP games are shitty, so as a game player (theoretically its primary function), DS is the better of the two. Not sure why you feel the need to have an all in one super machine instead of a good game player, and a good mp3 player, and whatever else you want. |
