sorry LOTR freaks, but it must be said!

I totally dug the first two movies, but unfortunately just like the third book the third movie was wayyyyyy too long with details that I could give 2 ****s about. I could barely make it through "The Return Of The King" (the book), it just had so many details to it that didn't really factor into the story in any way that I'd care about. I know that I'm not alone in this...I really do think that they should make a new "The Hobbit" movie since it just has this good feeling. The book does have some kind of warm aura to it.

peace and love

Hippy, you are alone on this one. All 3 were great movies and since the studio has said Peter Jackson will never make another picture for them, don't bet on The Hobbit from him. Maybe they will get Guy Richie to make it with Wesley Snipes as a gun-toting Bilbo and Steve Buscemi as Gullum.

Maybe if you hadn't fried your brains with drugs you would be able to concentrate enough to appreciate the depth of the book, rather than disliking it because you want it straightforward and one dimensional.

Some people need their stories spoon fed to them like Fred Savage in The Princess Bride.

hahaha you dweebs! I love a good read, I loved the first two books so much since they just sucked me right into them. I just really think that the third book totally dropped the ball in almost every way that it could have. The only kind of people that could enjoy such a droll ammount of detail are hard-core fans that start to question if they themselves are in fact elves. Drug use has NOTHING to do with my interpretation of the book so FFS try to find some other insult besides drug use. The "hippi" remark, oh ya, ouch, I gotta tell you that's so harsh...my life is over now that you called me a hippi lol.

peace and love

I agree, I was really into the books but I never finished the 3rd one for just that reason.

hippie, the point you are missing is you are not the center of the universe so when you say the third book sucks that doesn't mean **** when most of the rest of the world disagrees. You need to learn the difference between 'I think' and 'I know'.

RE: sorry LOTR freaks, but it must be said!

dude there is no "I know" when it comes to books and peoples opinions about them. I know quite a few people who agree with me on my view about the third book. LOTR fans will defend the books to the death but that doesn't mean that anyones opinion about the books is greater than the others. That's why this is a discussion board so we can discuss things. We might not (and most likely never) come to a result or any form of a solution, but it is nice to see others views upon the matter. But as always some deuche comes in and just says FU to everyone that has a view that differs from their own. I myself might not be the most flexible person in the world when it comes to listening to others prespective upon matters, but I am trying.

I'm just saying, maybe you would be a little better at concentrating if you weren't a druggy, and then you would enjoy the book more. It's really a masterpeice if you aren't too stupid to be able to read it. It has nothing to do with being too sucked into it and thinking you're an elf, it has everything to do with ability to appreciate the detail, which comes directly from intelligence.

He is too busy making tie dye tee shirts and searching the internet for Alice in Wonderland commemorative bongs for his next trip to burning man.
