I'm conservative, and although I wouldn't say I am outright embarassed by President Bush, I do think he leaves something to be desired. A true conservative President (I'm thinking like Calvin Coolidge conservativism) would have made a better leader. While Bush takes plenty of unfair criticism, plenty of it is valid as well. It seems like he tries to please everyone on every issue, and ends up pleasing no one, and getting little accomplished these days. I won't be too sad to see him go, in part because I believe a better, more conservative (in the true sense of the word) President will be elected next term, despite all the press Senators Clinton and Obama have been getting lately. Thanks for the question, and hopefully this wasn't just a setup for anyone to lambast me for my political views. |
