Sans, since that word was all * out I don;t know what the hell you meant to say. Cam you spell it with the letters dashed out like t-h-i-s so it sin'r censored. I am not familiar with this fuckin' IMUS idiot but I did here about it briefly and I dont know what ends in S that you are referring too.

Additionally: No he should have not said it but it shouldn't have been such a big damn deal about it. A simple reprimand would have worked. some PEOPLE get all worked up over the slightlest things.

Is it possible for you to spell at all? Between this post and your pamper one on the other thread you aren't doing so hot.

WTF is "sin'r censored"?

He called them whores (ho's to be exact) and people that have passed the third grade know that the ****S would mean s-l-u-t-s. Technically sans is wrong since whores charge and sluts give it away.

Consider yourself reprimanded for your attack of the English language.

RE: deal with it

no - "sluts" doesn't refer to race issues, and calling someonea ho is worse, anyway. The word sans was going for was the n-word.

Anyway, I think that, although what he said was unacceptable, his firing was the result of political calculation and nothing else. Not that it makes the firing less genuine - in a way, a political firing like this is more powerful because it shows how a major corporation had to bow to the demnads to ordinary people. What I thought was unfair about the firing was the Imus was doing things like that for over 40 years - it's not like this recent statement was anything new or even more gruesome than what he said the day before. If you're allowed to do something for 40 years and get away with it, it's unfair to fire him for it right away, even if the comment was unacceptable.

RE: deal with it

I think that the fact that the entire country gets pissed off about this demonstrates that we aren't over our race issues. If we really were completely not racist, it really wouldn't offend us when some dumb fuck is. All these people are just really quick to prove they're not racists by jumping on the guy that is. Leave him alone and ignore him, let him do his shit. Don't give him so much attention.

RE: deal with it

The country certainly isn't over racist issues. In fact I am one and I don't hide my racist agenda. We had a good thing going - free labor and servants for everyone- (now hispanics took thier place and we have to pay them) that's just a shame in my opnion that all this equality came up. Next we won't be able to throw a ball for a dog to fetch because it won't be fair to treat the dog like that.

Have a great day!

RE: deal with it

Am I the only one who feels like people are just losing their frigging minds? I mean, you get Mel Gibson's drunk driving antisemitic tirade, even hapless doofy good-guy "Kramer" spouting racist tripe. Now Imus. Guy's an ass, always has been. But you tap into very real things with a comment that you don't think through. "Nappy-headed hoes" has some really negative connotations in certain communities. Of course, I doubt Imus knows anything about that.

Somehow, has this become the time that all this stuff boils over via the mouths of our stupid-est celebrities? We like to pretend racism, sexism, antisemitism, homophobia, and a million other things aren't there. So why does this keep happening? And why is it happening so much now? It's there, it's real, and it's gotta be addressed in a real way.

For people who put the blame back on Sharpton and Jackson (and we've seen a LOT of that in the past couple of weeks), yeah, sometimes they need to pick their battles better. But this is one they should fight. You have to make the point: saying these things is not okay.

*Yawn*....Green, your attempts to shock fall flat, dude. I can only assume you're being ironic, because nobody can figure out how to hook up the Internet that's that ignorant.

Eighteen-sixty-seven called. You're late for dinner.

The incidents aren't new, the people getting all upset about political correctness are new. There are always dumbasses that also happen to be famous, it's just that now people care enough about them for it to be news. I'm not saying the guy isn't a dick, I'm just saying that we don't need to see it and similar things on the news constantly.

RE: deal with it

I swear to god, a few weeks ago in my law class our professor asked "Does anyone know what big historical thing happened in 1968?"

A girl raises her hand and said "Isn't that the year the slaves were freed?"

Why is it that Snoop Dogg can sing about nappy headed hoes all he wants, and get paid millions of dollars for it and win Grammy’s? (If he hasn't won a Grammy, and you're going to refute my argument with that, you've clearly missed my point.)

If our country were "truly" over our racism, the ghetto culture wouldn't need to exist. Black were offended by slavery, and the prejudice that came with that, understandably, but it's starting to fade.

But letting it fade let's it go, and people don't want to do that. So, the ghetto culture forms and they start rubbing it in OUR faces that THEY can call each other niggers and we can't. It's a power they've bestowed upon themselves, and by flipping out and firing people like Don Imus, we're just giving them more.

If anyone wants to eliminate racism, how about start eliminating double standards first. Put up or shut up.

RE: deal with it

Come on, dude. Are you actually OFFENDED by this "double standard?" Does it PAIN you to not be able to say "nappy-headed hoes" if Snoop can? These are the reactionary responses of the side that has all the power, and always has. There's something very self-conscious in this being the debate put forward by white apologists.

You're suggesting that the only way to equality is cultural assimilation....that is, act "white" (whatever that entails).

The fact is, racism has long been in America's subconscious discourse; you don't need rap music to remind you of the "difference" between black and white.

Do a search on "lawn jockey" on eBay sometime. You'll get an amazing number of hits: grinning, huge-lipped black boys....imagery more suited to 1860 than 2007. But you don't have to look even that far for obsequious, minstrel-show imagery. It was maybe ten, fifteen years ago (?) that they "emancipated" Aunt Jemima. Do you think they'd market a breakfast product with (I'm using laughably stupid stereotypes to make a point here) a drunk and shiftless Native American or a (quoting Cartman) dirty, money-grubbing Jew on it?
