As medical science advances, fetal viability will extend to this early a time period, rendering immaterial the abortion debate beyond 15-17 weeks; labor will simply be induced and the infant will be extracted live, and, ideally, immediately go up for adoption (the waiting list for newborn adoptions is enormous; given the amount adoptive parents pay for foreign adoption, the medical costs associated with prolonged incubation could easily be absorbed as part of the adoption fee). |

I would much rather women receive abortions from trained doctors instead of creeps and low-lifes in the hood or by themselves. I can't understand anti-abortion people who are against sex-education as well. If you really don't want abortions, explain to people how to have sex without concieving. |

BTW, I can't remember who made the claim, but I recall hearing about a book where the author said that legalized abortion helped reduce crime, since it meant fewer kids were born to crappy mothers. Maybe we could get conservatives to support abortion rights by renaming it "pre-emptive capital punishment" :) |
