| Posted By: sunshinedefilade Posted On: Aug 2, 2007 Views: 772 | sunshine/rescue dawn i was never a huge danny boyle fan, but sunshine is coupled with werner herzog's rescue dawn as best film of the year. easy. i was never more tense or moved by any other films. herzog can do no wrong in my book. every single one of his films have moved me beyond words with their style and honesty, as well as their brutality. i can't wait to see more of his films...after seeing 8 of them, i still am jonesing for more. sunshine had this effect on me in just the same way. while i agree that the end seems far-fetched, i can't forget what came before it, and it is easily forgiven; not so much for the fact that it is slightly ridiculous, but because it makes the movie just a little less fun. both films will stay with me for the rest of my life. and that says a lot. |

| Posted By: spoko Posted On: Aug 1, 2007 Views: 928 | Away from Her I think I'd have to say "Away from Her" is my best of the year so far. Certainly the most powerful experience I've had in the theater this year, or possibly any year ever. I have to thank AdamAndSam, by the way, for putting that one on my radar. Never would have thought to see it otherwise; probably never would have even heard of it. |

| Posted By: Junior Posted On: Jul 31, 2007 Views: 437 | Pirates I had to vote for Pirates because nobody else would, and the real best movie of the year so far isn't on the list (Sunshine). |
| Posted By: Andrew Gates Posted On: Jul 31, 2007 Views: 387 | Best film of the year Zodiac as best, then Sunshine and The Wind that Shakes the Barley close behind. |
| Posted By: Ross Miller Posted On: Jul 31, 2007 Views: 383 | Best Film of 07 Zodiac |

| Posted By: Jared from Boston Posted On: Jul 31, 2007 Views: 380 | Best time at the movies so far... The Simpsons Movie. |
| Posted By: Trav Posted On: Jul 30, 2007 Views: 508 | SuperBad The only film on the list I definitely wouldn't have on there is Pirates 3, but a case can be made for the rest. I just saw SuperBad last night, and I think once it releases wide it's going to jump to the top of some people's lists. It's funnier than Knocked Up, sweet when necessary, and downright brilliant at times. |
| Posted By: Jared from Buffalo Posted On: Jul 29, 2007 Views: 605 | best of 07 (so far) Have to agree with Sunshine. Just saw it and it completely blew me away. Boyle can't miss. 300 is my only 10/10 movie on this list, also loved Once and Namesake. |
| Posted By: Andyhise Posted On: Jul 29, 2007 Views: 605 | MOvie of '07... so far 300 comes close for sheer joie de vivre (I did a Classics degree so it resonates quite personally). But SUNSHINE is my favourite by miles so far. We got it in the UK back in April. Fully loaded DVD is out within the month :-) |
| Posted By: snow-walker Posted On: Jul 28, 2007 Views: 539 | best film so far Where is the love for 28 weeks later, i loved 300 so i voted for it but i also rated zodiac, the namesake and hot fuzz. |
| Posted By: S.T. Stevens Posted On: Jul 28, 2007 Views: 450 | I will cure you of your wickedness... Ratatouille comes close, but so far the best movie I've seen all year has to be Black Snake Moan. I think Samuel L. Jackson & Christina Ricci's performances alone make it worthy, and it's the only movie that I think will be good enough to still be on my top 10 list at the end of the year. |
