| Posted By: Chuck Posted On: Oct 11, 2007 Views: 3462 | Preview Mode I'm previewing it for free (for now). However, I've listened to the album several times and it's proven to be worth least 10-15 USD. Brilliant work once again. |
| Posted By: Tyler Posted On: Oct 10, 2007 Views: 3650 | To Brian It's easy to justify never (or very rarely) paying for music using the three excuses you used: 1. Most new music sucks. (How cynical.) 2. The people who profit from music sales are "non musical money making parasites". (Again, how cynical.) 3. Art should be free. (How idealistic.) I'm all for lower music prices, destroying The Machine and giving fans control, but your arguments only show your ignorance. You cant use the fact that the record business has a lot of greedy people to screw everyone else. Its foolish to think that youre sticking it to The Man when really youre hurting all of the good people in the industry (and auxiliary industries affected by it) who are music fans working for a reasonable wage. Also the art should be free argument is simply tired and illogical. Art is NOT free. Who pays for the studio time? Who pays for the producer? Who pays the artists bills? Heres the key: Buy good music at a fair price. Im paying $10 for In Rainbows. |
| Posted By: John Donne Posted On: Oct 10, 2007 Views: 2417 | I wonder... Of the people who basically downloaded it for free, I wonder what proportion would've waited for an illegal download of the album anyway? |
| Posted By: Brian Posted On: Oct 10, 2007 Views: 2153 | In Rainbows I listen to, but don't buy all that much music these days as most of it is s--t and is controlled by "non musical money making parasites". I have made an exception in this case due to Radiohead's belief and respect of their true Fans. Music should be about emotions and feelings and Radiohead have basically asked us all "How Do We Feel and Pay Accordingly". I paid for the 40 pound Box set and received my download today. Let me tell you "I Feel Great"!!!!!!!!. True Art is Priceless but "Art is Free"!!. Respect to Radiohead!!!!!!!!. |
