Posted By: Craig Posted On: Apr 27, 2009 Views: 933 | Feminism where woman are seen and repected as individuals and are proud of who they are which is totally right, there are some places where se/race/colour/creed/religion etc are being discriminated against, everyone is equal, its WHAT you do, not WHO you are that matters, women have the same right as everyone (that does also mean that woman are not better than anyone btw) |
Posted By: Lici Posted On: Mar 21, 2009 Views: 4742 | Feminism There's no reason to be feminist. You're letting yourself believe that people will try to attack you, or being prejudice, or something along those lines. There's no reason you can't be masculine if you want, and I'm tired of feminists turning their nose up to me because I act like a guy. If there weren't feminists, there wouldn't be sexists. Again, this is my opinion, don't bash it like a blatant fool. |
Posted By: yourmom Posted On: Mar 19, 2009 Views: 4742 | thoughts In regards to the last comment: Women being as good as men does not mean they are the same as men, they are equal to men, yet they are very different - duh! |
Posted By: satori Posted On: Mar 16, 2009 Views: 4742 | feminism to me, feminism is simply equality. the fact that it's called feminism seems like a handicap in itself. feminism says to me... i want the same treatment. i want the same opportunities and i also don't want the 'i won't punch a girl attitude.' basically, don't factor in the girl card in analyzing how capable i am, my preferences, etc. yes, i am proud to claim girlhood/womanhood/femininity as part of my identity, but i am much more complicated than that. dass all. :) |
Posted By: Hattmannen Posted On: Mar 13, 2009 Views: 1206 | Feminism As far as I know, feminism was "invented" sometime during the 1800's. Then it was simple. Same salary for the same work. Feminism has, of course, evolved since and lately it seems more like a curse word when used by men, and a crazy cult when used by women. It's gotten out of hand because of too many outspoken people with too weird opinions calling themselves feminists. To me feminism is still simple though. It means equality. Equality in pay, equality in right, liberties, obligations and so on and so forth... It has, however, nothing to do with what's feminine and what's masculine. There ya go. :-) I had the time to make the comment, just as I was told in the poll. |
Posted By: Tilps Posted On: Mar 3, 2009 Views: 1206 | What I Think My opinions about feminism are most easily explained by this quote : "It's important to remember that feminism is no longer a group of organizations or leaders. It's the expectations that parents have for their daughters, and their sons, too. It's the way we talk about and treat one another. It's who makes the money and who makes the compromises and who makes the dinner. It's a state of mind." -- Anna Quindlen |
Posted By: ronsha Posted On: Feb 27, 2009 Views: 1206 | poll feminism means equality. Being 'as good as' implies that men are the standard! Fantastic website btw :) muchos amor ti xXx |
Posted By: Bex Posted On: Feb 23, 2009 Views: 1206 | feminism is just a female form of chauvinism |
Posted By: Sheila Posted On: Feb 23, 2009 Views: 1206 | Feminism Feminism is about everyone, not just women, being equal. |
Posted By: Dar Posted On: Feb 15, 2009 Views: 1206 | Feminism Why was the poll comparing us to men? We're women! Strong, beautiful, sexy and entirely our own.(ok, we can't have women without men but thats not the point) When we talk about being Feminist, we shouldn't compare ourselves to men. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with men, but the fact that we constantly compare ourselves to them defeats the purpose! |
Posted By: Sarah Posted On: Feb 5, 2009 Views: 1206 | Feminism Feminism is being EQUAL to men and having the same rights and restrictions placed upon us. |
Posted By: Janria Posted On: Jan 31, 2009 Views: 1206 | Feminism Feminism is NOT about comparing ourselves to men for christ sake girlies! Feminism is about having the right to be who we are without fear of persecution, to do what we want, and be treated fairly! The first step was gaining the rights that make us mens equals (legally/politically speaking) but the reason for us doing that was freedom! Its no longer about the men, thats why its called feminism not 'women-equal-to-men-ism' |
Posted By: kiki Posted On: Jan 27, 2009 Views: 3440 | Feminism I agree with all these other girls they are speaking the truth. Extreme feminists are turning into men trying to prove they are as good as men. There is no point in that you dont have to do every single thing a man does because we arent men we're women. Strong, Capable women not followers of everything a man does. |
Posted By: Zuzanny Posted On: Jan 25, 2009 Views: 3440 | Feminism (repeating more of the same) To me Feminism is about the right to make choices about your own life, and not be walked all over simply because of the gender of your body. I also agree that perhaps this should be known as humanism because it should also go both ways. |
Posted By: Marissa Posted On: Jan 11, 2009 Views: 3445 | feminism Modern feminism, for me at least, has to do with being the best women you can be in the harsh culture and society we've created. It means not only fighting back against out-dated prejudices against women, but being unusually strong in our every day lives. Modern feminism teaches us that we should not be subject to rape, or refusal of birth control, and in the meantime to love our bodies and sex the way it was meant to be. Feminism is yes about equality, but it should also embrace your femininity instead of your masculinity. Its one of those very important subjects that often times gets looked over. |
