Posted By: MoppyFreak Posted On: Jan 12, 2008 Views: 2058	_feminism_ i really dont want to offend anyone here my fellow mookies, but i feel that feminism isnt a very good idea. i feel that it is making the woman cause worse by doing what we want. i do REALLY hate it when men try to pressure us into things e.g sex, etc. but trying to make out that we are better than them just isnt going to work. this may seem a bit old-fashioned, especially as im only 14, but i like ot when men have a certain power over me, not in a sexual way, just in a dominance of male over female kind-of-a-way. its only natural, men are naturally stronger physically than women, its just a fact. but i dont think that men having complete command over women is right either, because we should be treated with the respect we deserve! please feel free to email moi, [zanyzo12@yahoo.co.uk] i would love to have some decent conversation with someone on the same wavelength as me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While equality is an integral part of it, I also think that there are inherent differences between men and women that mean they may never be truly equal. However, we can strive for an ideal of equity rather than equality. But in essence for me, the root of feminism is women having choices. The choice to be a mechanic, or a carpenter, or a cop, or an executive in a large corporation, or a mother, or a housewife, or a teacher, or anything she likes. Feminism to me means being unrestricted in what we can do, and taking that freedom and choosing where in life we want to go without any hindrances. ^__________^

A woman is allowed to do less strenuous physical tests than men to become a firefighter. If women do 15less push-ups than a man then they don't fit in with the guidelines put in place to be a firefighter, because she's not physically strong enough to pull that body out of the burning building. If women do as many push-ups as men then she fits in with the guidelines for physical capability. This might result in there being less women firefighters, but it does mean all men and women there have been tested to the same criteria and therefor are of a safe standard. Women artists don't get paid as much as men do, although their artwork is equal....There is still gross unfairness, we all need to be seen as equal!
