Obsesive recycling and other mental disorders...

I thought I was pretty gung ho for recycling til I met a customer where I work who seemed to single handedly take it upon herself to save the planet.
She bought a bottled drink, drank it and then asked if we recycled. I told her "Unfortunately we don't" in my very best "I'm sorry" kind of voice.
She looked normal so I had no idea that she was going to go on a tirade about how she never would have bought her drink in the first place if she imagined that the little coffee shop where I work would not recycle her container.

*sigh*

I've met a couple of these types over the years and I feel like asking them,
why don't you just quietly take the container home and toss it in your recycle bin?
My town makes a lot of money off household recycling, you'd think people would want to toss this stuff in their own bin but I have an inkling that I know why they don't.

It's the same reason the coffee shop I work at doesn't do it.

We don't offer recycling as the whole process of storing and sorting empty beverage containers would attract way to many bugs.

I work hard and I recycle at home, I do my part. The lectures from the obsesive compulsive recyclers are really something I don't need.

What the hell? How hard is it to have an extra bin for recycling? You don't need to 'sort', just let the recycling company take care of it.
