Educational Boost

St. John's is certainly one of the parishes in Grenada with the most interesting history yet the present and younger generations are yet to be fully taught let alone to appreciate the rich history we possess.
Our history does not only lie in the great stories told about various locations but also in the sterling achievements of the members of our community.
This celebration I pray should divert from the normal course of events to a much more educationally beneficial exercise.

Organizing Skills needed for 09 Carnival

The Carnival photos posted by Arthur show that costumes do not have to be elaborate to make carnival thoroughly enjoyable.
In that spirit we are looking for anyone with Carnival band organizing skill to put a Reunion band together for 09 Carnival.
True, the Reunion will begin on the Thursday after Carnival is over, and the two will not be officially linked, but it would be nice for a person with that skill to take the lead.

Do not respond to me personally but instead please post your response on www.gogouyave.com.

It would be a great pleasure to see my grand-uncle Tony DeCoteau and his family again, after all these years; and to mmet and greet all my other realtives from different parts around the world. Excellent initiative to the persons responsible!

Response to Inquiries

I sincerely hope that the coming together in Gouyave of all these St. John's people from so many different lands on August 13, 2009 for the Reunion will be FAR MORE IMPORTANT than whatever functions are planned.

Nonetheless, we cannot release the information as yet to the questions that Mikey asked in as much as some of the details have not been finalized. Let's remember that there is still over a year to go, so we certainly have more than enough time.
Keep referring to www.gogouyave.com and sooner or later those information will be posted.

Planned Actitivies

Is there a developed list of planned activities? If so can it be posted somewhere

Who all from the Parish (community leaders etc.) residing back home are invited to participate in the reunion?

Who will be catering food during the reunion?

Are all planned activities will be held in the Parish of St. Johns only?

Is there a chosen location for the initial meeting of the reunion?

What information do you need?

Those of you who say that you want more information, can you please explain what information you would like?

The St. John's Reunion is from August 13 to August 17, 2009. Every attendee is responsible for his/her own flight to Grenada, as well as making his/her own accomodations and transportation while there.

I would like to attend this grand gathering of old friends, but unfortunately i will not be coming home this year. I have already planned my family vacation that cannot be cancelled, so i will have to miss that one, better luck next time and good time to old friends.
