Yes, NASCAR

Don't be so narrow minded. Just because YOU don't watch NASCAR doesn't mean it's not popular. I'm in Massachusetts and I'm a huge NASCAR fan. There are ALOT more of us than you think. And outside of the Northeast, NASCAR is HUGE. Think outside your little corner of the world....and please, don't give me the lecture on fossil fuels and all that nonsense...they run on Methanol!

Red Cross Racing

It's good for the Red Cross to get its name before a large audience. However, with global warming issues, high fuel prices and a shortage of gasoline in some areas, it seems connecting with NASCAR is not the right sport to be associated with. How about finding a sport that isn't dependent upon burning gasoline?

Poll 73

I wouldn't be suprised if there is some sports tie in that would work, but NASCAR?

NASCAR

This is a nice national promotion for the Red Cross, but demographically speaking, it won't resonate much in New England (as the poll shows). NASCAR draws much better TV ratings in the rest of the country--New England is near the bottom. This despite a very popular track in Loudon, NH (though I believe it only hosts one or two NASCAR events a year). So this is a good tie in for the Red Cross nationally, but probably less so in Massachusetts and New England.

NASCAR FAN

Just a few comments:

As an employee for the American Red Cross, I am proud to see that we are promoting ourselves in conjuntion with NASCAR. NASCAR has been the fastest growing spectator sport and I'm proud to be a fan. Roush and Biffle will be great at promoting the American Red Cross at the races I'm sure. However, can we look into getting the other automobile manufacturers represented in this campaign besides the Fords? I know of the Chevy, Dodge, and now Toyota fans would like to get in on this action if asked. Good going ARC, glad to see our brand name on the race track!!!!!
