| Posted By: bilo Posted On: Sep 28, 2008 Views: 2187 | treo pro One unique advantage of the treo pro is that it is an unlocked phone/PDA. This means that one can easily switch sim cards without 2 year contracts and such other hassles. Furthermore, for those who travel abroad can also easily use local sim cards and save a lot on charges. iphone does not give this option and its international use is fraught with heavy charges. A PDA, regardless of its web browsing capabilities will never give you the same experience as a laptop or a desktop. It is, in my opinion, only useful for occasional and brief internet use for urgent retrieval of information. |

| Posted By: Michael Posted On: Sep 10, 2008 Views: 2478 | to Tom... >Too bad it's not CDMA capable . . . >GSM is old and slow technology. Tom, you seem to be some american redneck living alone in the desert ... learn more about mobile phone networks and you will seel, that GSM is NOT slow. It offers GPRS, EDE and UMTS (as succesor) .... |
| Posted By: Robert Ledonne Posted On: Aug 27, 2008 Views: 3310 | Palm Pro Perhaps someone can tell me if I am correct or not. The IPhone's main advantage is its internet experience. Forget about a Palm Pro with 3G- speed . Speed isn't the major problem the Problem is the web interface they use - I am a palm OS user and "BLAZER" has never a good experience. i don't know about windows browser because i have always used palm OS. opening e-mails "Truncated" attacthments and looking at "truncated" web pages just is to slow and frustrating for me. this is where the I phone rules- their web experience uses a real internet browser and gives you a close to laptop like interface on a cel phone. isn't that what palm is still missing and could that be maybe what they are planning to come out with in their planned software for 2009?????????????????? is windows' web browser any beter than "Blazer"???? |
| Posted By: J.R. Posted On: Aug 27, 2008 Views: 3364 | treo pro The "supposed" great reviews on this phone are garbage. There is no way this phone even comes near the iPhone. Palm design has barely changed from the beginning, so any slight advancement is a reason for palm users to celebrate. I have been a user of the treo 650, 700 and currently centro. Palm has continued its lack luster history in the new palm pro model. Don't waste your money. You are just supporting mediocrity. |
| Posted By: Doug Posted On: Aug 27, 2008 Views: 3355 | New Palm NOT HOT. Have to have the Palm OS. I used to work for Palm when they first came out. I started with the original Palm Pilot, then then the Vx, and only for a year have been on the Treo 680. I will only go to Windows when the Palm OS is gone! |
| Posted By: Max Posted On: Aug 27, 2008 Views: 2525 | Treo Pro needs the Palm OS!!!! What more can be said...it is almost unanimous. When Palm OS gets on the Treo Pro, we all will be standing in line. Can't wait. Oops! I can wait if the choice is Palm versus Windows OS. |
| Posted By: PalmPurist Posted On: Aug 27, 2008 Views: 2550 | not for now Very impressive, but I'll wait for an equally significant Palm OS update! Got burned on WinMob - won't go back there. I'd take iPhone over T-Pro/Win. FWIW, I prefer the 'soft-feel' case of my 755p to the high-gloss look. |
| Posted By: a.b.corneille Posted On: Aug 24, 2008 Views: 2809 | palm treo pro like every one before me, i have the same remark if only it would be palm OS software.... windows based is in all fairness NOT a palm i still think palm OS is all that, i also have an iphone and use it as my multimedia gadget just because it's not good enough to work with. and do hope that dat the hardware for palm OS based smarthphones will be improved 'cause it won't be long before iphones software will be. not only apple is working at it, to make it happen centro(and everything palm before that)& a jailbreaked iphone(soon iphone 3G)user |
| Posted By: Rob Posted On: Aug 24, 2008 Views: 2829 | TREO PRO ALMOST COMPLETE Shoulda released a PALM Pro, ... Not WINDOWS Pro... I Would buy NOW if it had The PALM os..... |
| Posted By: K.Ramasamy Posted On: Aug 22, 2008 Views: 2960 | My comments on Treo Pro The design is fantastic in all aspects. If only it is Polm OS I would have standardized this to all our employes including me. K.Ramasamy Chairman Roots Group india |
| Posted By: Phil Kipnis Posted On: Aug 22, 2008 Views: 2565 | Treo PRO Neat! now if it only had the new palm os I'd buy them for all my employees..... |
| Posted By: Brad Posted On: Aug 22, 2008 Views: 2212 | Treo Pro Now if Palm will just make a similar smartphone, but with the Palm OS...I will buy one tomorrow! |
| Posted By: Virginia King Posted On: Aug 22, 2008 Views: 1781 | treo pro and palm OS I am very impressed, until I learned it was to be a Windows mobile. Cant we continue to have our palm OS. Had windows mobile, went to Palm OS and will not go back. Palm OS rulz!!!! |
| Posted By: JOE Posted On: Aug 22, 2008 Views: 1296 | treo pro alot of this new features are really nice, to bad it takes them so long (sometimes never) to get these options on to palm OS phones. I like the new design, but they still need to ask users what they do with the phones, and what needs to be changed. |
