Posted By: Mike Posted On: Dec 4, 2008 Views: 300 | Brew Blue Moon in a frosted mug with a slice of orange in it-great brew. This time of year the same company puts out Full Moon and tastes great too! Drinking one now and it is the best. |
Posted By: jhershman27 Posted On: Dec 5, 2008 Views: 288 | RE: Brew I agree whole heartedly. I love Blue Moon, even straight out of the bottle. Amongst my favorites, are Blue Moon, Rolling Rock, Corona, and Drop Top Ale. Right now I'm overseas in Kyrgyzstan. Here that have numbered beers- each a different flavor. They rate from 0-9. Zero being no alcohol, and nine being the most potent brew. |

This is a full bodied beer, making it a holiday taste sensation that will warm you bones on a cold winter night. only the finest concoction ever brewed! approx 13% alcohol |
Posted By: MG Posted On: Dec 5, 2008 Views: 264 | RE: Brew Full Moon is a good wintry beer. And mad propz for recognizing Rolling Rock, probably my favorite. It's like drinking a baby's soul. |

Posted By: jia jia Posted On: Dec 8, 2008 Views: 211 | RE: RE: Brew man it's monday morning, and i'm reading all of your comments on beer... you're making me thirsty, guys! anyone here like pilsner-urquell (czech) or tsingtao (lager, originally founded by germans, produced in china), or chimay (belian (brewed by trappist monks), 7-9%)? ooo, and and full sail- mmm (hood river, OR). i live in utah, so we have to go to the liquor store to get good brews, anything with 6% or more (boo). i'm thinking of (have been forever, but too lazy/busy with other stuff, but a lot of my friends do it) brewing my own, anyone here do that?? well, if any of you get a chance, try some of the beers above, yummy! cheers! |

Posted By: buckskinbass Posted On: Dec 10, 2008 Views: 188 | RE: Brew I do brew my own, and recommend it highly. I always brew a batch for Christmas time. Chimay is a damn good beer, it's the benchmark for all Belgian style beer. The restaurant that I work at has it on tap. Oregonbutterfly- If you are ever in Enterprise OR. I highly recommend stopping by the Terminal Gravity brewery. Their ESG (extra special gold) is outstanding. |
Posted By: jia jia Posted On: Dec 10, 2008 Views: 185 | RE: Brew hey, buckskinbass, any pointers for first-timers? my buddy says 'it's all in the water'. he says he likes to use reverse-osmosis... of course i know the ingredients matter. where do you store it when you're letting it do its thing? also, i know it matters WHAT kind you're brewing, but anything rule of thumb-wise, i should know? thanks for any tips. i've never had Chimay from a tap, only bottle, i bet that's really good! |
Posted By: buckskinbass Posted On: Dec 10, 2008 Views: 183 | RE: Brew My best advice is to make sure your bottles are sanitized very well. Good water is important. Around these parts the tap water is decent, but there is some chlorine in it. Chlorine and yeast are not the best of friends but most yeasts can take it. Remember that you will be cooking a lot of it out. As far as storing it, if you have a basement, then you are good to go. You want to find a place that doesn't get a whole lot of sunlight, and maintains a consistent temperature. Bathtubs work well, because it contains the mess when your yeast starts eating the sugars. I also recommend using a turkey fryer to cook your ingredients. |
