Posted By: Chilli Bob Posted On: Dec 3, 2008 Views: 824 | Life on Mars Hiya Todd. If you want a really good show to get into, I would suggest "Life on Mars" from the BBC. There are 2 series, the first is the strongest, but the second fairly rocks too. It's about a CID inspector who is investigating a serial killer in London, when his girlfriend (also a copper) is taken and held by the killer. On the way to investigate, he gets hit by a car, and when he comes to finds himself in 1973. (I know what you think, but keep reading). He has to work with the 1970's coppers (who work VERY differently to him) to find the connection with the present day serial killer, while trying to find the way back to the future (if indeed he has travelled in time, and isn't in a coma or dead or something else). I know this sounds like the crappiest idea for a show, but it really does work. The 1970's cops are tough and corrupt and get the job done. The mystery of what's actually happening to the main character is carried right to the end of the second series. All the characters are brilliant, especially Gene Hunt, the head of CID in the 70's. I can't recommend this show enough, at least rent the first series and give it a try.
