It definitely feels extremely self-centered to make an entire page with the sole purpose of talking about oneself.
Besides that, I just don't really get it. Not because of the fact that it's new and has been somewhat accosted by the emo, hipster, and tween cultures. That I can live with. It just seems like e-mail but more self-celebratory. I'm not sure if IM counts as a social networking service (though I think it does), but I actually like IM. Just more convenient than talking on the phone.
