We were in the seventh grade and he got the **** beaten out of him during a "race riot" in school back in the day. Got hit repeatedly on the head with a baseball bat, cracked his skull, left for dead, eight months in a coma hooked to machines, the whole deal. They said he'd never be more than a vegetable, but he eventually came out of his coma and, with years of therapy, finally got up to about a two-year-old brain level. His vocabulary was extremely limited, consisting mostly of hateful slurs which were the last thing he heard as he was being beaten. He repeated them over and over again, to the point where instead of feeling compassion for him, you just wanted someone to "accidentally" shut off his machines, and put him and the world out of their misery. He had to be forcably restrained most of the time as he kept threatening to break peoples kneecaps and shoot them with various imaginary firearms. Which was all the more pathetic because he didn't even have the motor control to control his bowels, or be able to change his own diapers. So I guess we should feel sorry for this guy, as obviously something similar happened to him. Sad. |

It's a medical miracle that he's still alive and has enough motor control to go on his "special needs" computer keyboard and hit about 15% of the keys correctly. But still- like I said- a vegetable. Very sad. I hope they caught and punished the people responsible for this crime. Of course, this might actually be an improvement to the way he was, so you never know. |
