Charles is much deserving of this award. He suffered untold abuse during his days to get to the bottom of the Murrah bombing yet stood his ground and he is certainly a hero to me and a real fighter for Freedom. What I hear about Sheriff Joe makes me proud to have someone taking care of business with regard to law breakers but that hardly rises to the level of a freedom fighter

Former DEA, he has always been about controlling people -- allegedly for their own good. That's not freedom, that's LICENSE. Now he has people dying from heat exhaustion in his infamous Tent City. Heck, his greatest claim to fame is pink underwear for inmates. Where's the freedom element in that? As a multi-decade resident of Maricopa County, I have to say Arpaio is the Arizona politician I despise most -- next to Janet Napolitano, now head of Obama's SS.

Sherriff Joe is teaching these men that until they understand the constraints that God has put in place, they will never understand true freedom. They are big children that need boundaries and rules to teach them what many of us learned at home with Mom and Dad.

Sheriff Joe advances creative imprisonment. Now if Sheriff Richard Mack or Sheriff Jack McLamb was listed, I could understand. They actually are out there advancing the principles of individual liberty and the constitution. Is being a ruthless, iron-fisted law enforcement official really germane to the idea of freedom? So maybe you like what he's done, but what on Earth does it have to do with expanding freedom? I agree with him on immigration and even chain gangs, BUT if you ever study this guy you will find out that he is sick. He and his department have outright murdered people and destroyed many people's lives, and to be totally honest, no straight man would do some of the stuff he has. The whole dressing men up in pink underwear is just creepy and gross. This leads me to believe that he is most likely an undercover homosexual sadist and why is a person like that running a prison?? I was asked to vote for someone on the "not" in public office, but I see Sam's name here and I know him from the freedom movement. Sam has led the charge in keeping Pennsylvania honest, as much as it can be, fighting Real ID and so forth. He helps other state organizations do the same by lending his name and time to their causes. If each state had a Sam, we'd probably still have states, if you know what I mean.

He leads by example and I am hoping there are a LOT more sheriffs out there paying attention! What's sorely lacking in this country is more "real men" out there with the guts he has to get the job done.
