| Posted By: Stephen Posted On: May 11, 2009 Views: 490 | Best Baseball Movie "You saying Jesus Christ can't hit a curve ball?" Major League is the best. I thought Sugar was brutal to sit through. |
| Posted By: Frank Ochoa Posted On: May 11, 2009 Views: 419 | Best baseball movie? How is The Sandlot not on this list? One of the few kid/sport movies that stand the test of time. |
| Posted By: lec51099 Posted On: May 11, 2009 Views: 379 | baseball movies? of course, Sandlot! |
| Posted By: Kevin Posted On: May 10, 2009 Views: 462 | Baseball Clearly it's the criminally underrated movie, "The Sandlot". |
| Posted By: dave Posted On: May 8, 2009 Views: 515 | Anything but the top two I don't have anything against Costner. He's in one of my favorite flicks from the 80s (No Way Out), but a couple summers ago, I took in these Costner baseball movies that seem to have made his career, and ugh. Bull Durham was okay, but really, people, Field of Dreams? Ugh. Double ugh, even. So annoying and dull, I had to watch it apportioned out over three nights, because I couldn't stay awake through the whole things. What a waste of a netflix rental. During my baseball movie summer, I watched The Natural & Eight Men Out also, and both are extraordinarily better movies for me. But, there's no beating the Euke's radio play by play in Major League. "He leads the league in offensive categories, including nosehairs!" How does it get better than that?! Answer: It. Does. Not. |
| Posted By: Rick C. Posted On: May 8, 2009 Views: 514 | Baseball movies Gentlemen - what is wrong with 94 % of your listeners? The clear choice is Eight Men Out. Through superb writing and directing, Sayles did a wonderful job capturing an infamous moment in baseball history. |
| Posted By: Amy Posted On: May 8, 2009 Views: 411 | Other? Though I voted for Bull Durham, as I do believe it to be the best baseball movie, I would have given a second vote to Other because by Other, I mean THE SANDLOT. |
| Posted By: Andrew Posted On: May 8, 2009 Views: 344 | Baseball Movie Fear Strikes Out with Anthony Perkins. This choice might reveal that I'm not a baseball fan? |
| Posted By: keith Posted On: May 7, 2009 Views: 374 | this poll The Sandlot |
| Posted By: Kate Posted On: May 7, 2009 Views: 412 | Bull Durham and Eight Men Out Such a hard choice! It came down to the fact that I still watch Eight Men Out every time it's on TV, where I now only choose Bull Durham if nothing else is on. The cast, Jon Cusack's strongest performance. The underappreciated David Strathairn and Bill Irwin. And then there's John Sayles' storytelling... |
| Posted By: m r Posted On: May 6, 2009 Views: 461 | Bull of Dreams? Field of Durham? I was really torn between Bull Durham and Field of Dreams. Glad to see they're currently tied. |
| Posted By: Kevin S. Posted On: May 5, 2009 Views: 460 | Major League How can you not love Major League? It's life in baseball. It's the real comraderie in the locker room, the training, and the will of 25 guys who become more than the sum of their parts. One of the best. |
| Posted By: David Posted On: May 5, 2009 Views: 428 | Best Baseball Movie "Little Big League" --everything that "Rookie of the Year" wasn't... (It's a bit odd that both leads had parts in "American Pie 2". Major League is a close second. |
