Collaborative Law

It is interesting that collaborative law is known in Nigeria while it is still relatively unknown in the United States. The primary reason that the public does not know about Collaborative Law is that many litigation lawyers oppose its use. Why? Because the collaborative process is able to allow people to resolve their disputes quickly and inexpensively-- usually for a mere fraction of the cost of litigation. How? The process eliminates formal discovery which is the most expensive part of litigation. However, the collaborative process is only for lawyers and parties who are willing to be honest and go forward in good faith, so this eliminates some people from being successful in the process. To find out more about collaborative law go to www.collaborativelaw.us . This is a non-profit organization to educate the public and promote peaceful resolution.

Great things are happening

Great!!! Things have started taking a positive turn in that state now. With these I think the so called godfathers are fading out and their power is seems taking away from them. With the youth and the hard work of Edo in Safe Hand God will hear the cry of HIS children in Esan in particular and Edo state at large.

Re: The Worship of Ancestors

I read this piece 'The Worship of Ancestors' with so much surprise that I wonder where you come from and where you are coming from. You quoted the bible as source of your references as if the bible represent every living soul on earth. If you dont believe other people beliefs, you should expect not to be believed. The Jesus Christ I assume you believe in the bible is also a dead man confined like any other dead person. If people represent their ancestor with a piece of wood, is it different from the cross you xtians wear that represent Jesus. If you dont believe someting just leave it for those who beleave and don't try to write through the eye of the bible. Will you say the same thing to the Chinese or Indians who have held on to their tradition and religion so much that today they are going to space like those who see things in the bible. Do you believe that if we have enforce oath taking in Nigeria in our traditional way there will be not be so much corruption as it is today. And again let me tell you Dr Wilfred Olokunefor that 90% of corrupt civil servant , legislators and bizmen/women are members of the two major religious fate and not traditional worshipers.

JULY 14 EDO ELECTION

Chief Isekhure, Thank u for your press conference. PDP should know by now that they are stupid and that the Binis are wise people. Some of them will commit suicide after the July 14 election result. Mark my words and take it as a prophetic statement!

Islamic doctrine of Jihad-explanation....

Alhaji Lateef Adegbite, thanks for your statements. Nothing new in your words as published. As secretary-general of the supreme council for islamic affaires, may you tell, or educate nigerians about 'Jihad' as an islamic religious doctrine taught in koran, by prophet Mohammed?

It' not enough to speak against boko haram terrorists, let's stop hypocrisy.
What is Jihad? By whom, and against whom?

ON INFANT BAPTISM

I commend the effort of the writer in trying to bring this discourse on infant baptism with series of references drawn from the Bible. I understand that he does not agree with the practice because he does not believe that baptism can save.
The high point of his argument is the reference to the fact that a sorcerer in the name of Simon was baptised yet he was not saved. This example to me proves to be fatal to his argument.

The fact that Simon was baptised and yet was not saved because he was a sorcerer does not imply that baptism is not a precondition for salvation. It only suggests that baptism secured under false pretence was never consummated in the first place. Secondly, that baptism is a pre requisite condition as there are other set conditions for salvation. Hence Jesus warned against backsliding, for anyone who looks back after setting his or her hand on a plough is not worthy of the Kingdom of God.

Finally I want to advice that the Bible which we take as the sole authority has a spirit behind it. We must therefore seek that spirit which is the divine guidance needed to overshadow our individual justifiable inclinations. May the Almighty God bless His word in our hearts. Amen.

Need For Inter-Religious Dialogue

My advice as a father is that people in area with security problems in Nigeria should stop going to Church or Mosque because religion is big money making business. While go to church or mosque when you know is not safe, the dead don't worship GOD. Pray in your homes for now until the security situation improves, those collecting money from religion would not advice you to stay home for security reasons because what they care about is the money and not you.

The Festac 77 masks.

But was it not the late Erhabor Emokpae who reproduced the Queen Idia mask to be used as the symbol for FESTAC 77, on contract with the FG?
