Though the erstwhile arrangement prominent during Babangida and Abacha regimes were all in the sense of come and chop for the Traditional rulers. I hope wide consultations are going on,regarding the mode and operandi of this council being proposed. I say so , because for some tribes like Binis we have a super and stable system whereby if the Binis and Benin Kingdom are to be a distinct nation and country of its own outside Nigeria,our traditional ruler in the name of Oba Of Benin will be our Sovereign Head of State just like it is in Britain, Japan, Swaziland Lesotho, Spain, Denmark, Netherland and some others. I hope this traditional forum is not design to ridicule traditional institions. We all may be Nigerians but we are of differnt tribes that look on to their traditional rulers with differenciating respect. While some have evolved as religious leaders or chief priest to be traditional some are rulers of their people from the bossom of the creator Osa n oghodua as in Benin for Example.
