| Posted By: Festus Ikekhua Posted On: Mar 23, 2012 Views: 404 | Scrapping Of TASUED I continue to wonder why the govt of Otunba Gbenga Daniel proliferated educational institutions during his eight years reign in Ogun state. And I wonder where the govt would get funds for the these institutions. I think the issue of TASUED should not be politicized. The govt of Amosun should look at the issue education in Ogun State holistically. And do what is best for the citizens. |

In 1976, it was the centralization of trade unions into one body(NLC) that enabled for easy manipulations in the affairs of NLC. In 200..., it was decentralization(NLC & TUC) which allowed government to employ the divide and rule approach in the affairs and activities trade union movement. Suffice it to say that these policies came from the same source. |
| Posted By: O. F. O. Posted On: Mar 22, 2012 Views: 434 | Wiating For More. More are yet to endorse OSHO BABA, I'm waiting most especially for "Rice Distributor" Ken Imasuagbon to give in to Oshiomhole consent. We all know is difficult, why not give it up to shame the devil or repent of of your sins so that you can be wellcome into the "new kingdom" of Edo. Imagin, the PDP members that visited our father: the former governor of the defunct bendel state, Dr. Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, when they were asked how they came, without shame they answered "through a brand new roads" and when they were futher asked don't you think the governor deserved thanks, they replied "think you will go to the contractors". Who are the contractors? Is the governor of cause. I'm saying it, people of Edo state are tired of selling their futures to godfathers, now they are now determining their own future. I'm appealing to all the decampees from PDP to ACN to adhere strictly to Acn's principle, because in this party there is no sharing of public fund meant for development; which is the slogan of PDP( share the money). To Ken Imasuagbon again "repent and be saved" |
| Posted By: Chief Ogedegbe Okotie Posted On: Mar 20, 2012 Views: 471 | mrs ibru's case I wrote this article in Dec 2011 and no newspaper will publish it.NOW see what is happening! Dear Editor, Please find below and also attached an article that I am pained to the bones to send to you. It represents the thinking a vast majority of Deltans that I have spoken to on the subject. I will be glad if you find a space in your reputable newspaper to publish it. ALEX IBRU – AFRICAN TRADITION TAKEN TOO FAR By Chief Ogedegbe Okotie I read with shock the death of Mr Alex Ibru on the 20th of November 2011. I had heard he had been ill and had prayed for his recovery. As a Deltan who love the Ibru family I have watched with keen interest developments in there. I am not at all surprised by the torrent of well wishers and all they have to say. In Africa, we do not talk ill of the dead. This is a tradition we hold sacred. But I am aghast at the extent to which the tribute thing is organized to make the man appear a Saint which he was far from. It is amazing that nobody is speaking out or is the Nigerian Press allowing only one side of the story to be told and told with extreme exaggeration in the spirit of ‘esprit de corps”? God forbid. Anyway, if you want cheap publicity visit Maiden Ibru on condolence. Comparatively the Guardian almost did not announce the passing of the great Ikemba. Who is Alex compared to Ojukwu? The role played by Alex’s senior brothers especially Olorogun Micheal Ibru in his life is completely swept under the carpet. There would not have been an Alex without a Micheal! Olorogun Michael sent Alex to School and gave him his Rutam Motors to manage and own. The family contacts were placed at his use. Now we told that he is a business genius who fell from the skies! Nobody talks of his defunct Midas Merchant Bank and all his failures. People think that we are all stupid in this country and lack memories. No matter how much they try to re-write history the truth remains. When Olorogun Micheal Ibru was to contest the 1983 governorship elections in the then Bendel State, he voluntarily relinquished the Guardian Newspapers to his young brother and resigned as its Chairman. Now we are told that Alex is the founder of the paper he was given. In the hope of keeping the family together and not washing their dirty linen in public, the family has managed the pride and arrogance of Alex for years. Unfortunately they are still trying to do that today swallowing the mess from his wife and business. Even workers at the Guardian have fallen for Maiden’s tricks. If Alex was so good and wonderful, why do staffers of the newspaper go on strike every now and again? A private newspaper for that matter! Advertisement space in the Guardian is the most expensive in the country. The newspaper also begins the price hike in cover prices and its Sunday edition the most expensive. Yet the workers there are poorly paid and badly treated. Alex is a capitalist pure and simple! If he were so great why did he not give his people even a University? Olorogun gave the community a secondary school Alex gave nothing! We are told of his “massive charity” which he is said to undertaken through his “trinity foundation”. Please do not deceive us with not sounding your trumpet, let the Guardian publish for the world to read the beneficiaries of his “famed philanthropy”. Everyone who has been to the Ibru Cente knows that it is the most expensive hotel in Delta State. Yet the world is told that it is free! I simply can not comprehened the reason for this. Even the Anglican Church has become a partner in this capitalist manipulation and deceit. God have mercy! Those who have related with the Ibru brothers know that if Alex were the senior, there would not have been any Ibru Brothers to talk about. His selfishness, greed and wickedness knew no bounds. To him, Bernad never existed. Goodie was his toy. Felix was disparaged. Michael was a mistake. And their two sisters Mabel and Grace misfits. He was even rougher with the children. His own daughter Sophia was sent packing from home for years after graduation for expressing her mind. Olorogun Michael had to take her up. The brothers wives he commanded should be in the kitchen or at best stay at home taking care of their husbands. Those who disobeyed got his wrath. But today his wife Maiden is managing his businesses. What a shame! The family should expect worse from her. Today his wife and children refer to themselves as Alex-Ibru. Who do they think they are? Alex took over Olorogun’s properties because of debts he helped settled with Union Bank. Oscar, Emma & Peter had to resist him publicly as he attempted to take-over SuperBru. Oboden was not so strong. Alex threw him on the streets of Ikoyi using Court Bailiffs and Area boys! He forgot all that their father gave him. What an ungrateful man! His religiosity was also a scam. He was part of Christianity, Ogboni fraternity, the eastern cults and supported Islam all at the same time! He never knew Jesus as Saviour and rebuffed all who tried to lead him to Christ. He redicled believers who are in his employ. Church was something social to him. Now he stands before his creator. He reproached polygamists yet has several children outside his marriage. At his funeral which would be on as I write, it will be a gathering of who is who in Nigeria. But the common people will not be there, except of course spectators. This is because he never touched the common people. He never established any job creating opportunity in his native Agbarha-otor or even Delta State. He could not influence any people-friendly policy with all his contacts in government. He never gave scholarships. He helped nobody. Anyone who contradicts this should publish real names for us to investigate. Every Christmas for some years now, he gave boiled rice to selected children at Agbarha-Otor. Someone should tell Maiden that any fool can do that. The Ibru Centre Clinic occupies Olorogun’s property by force and yet its charges are so high you will not meet a patient there. You better travel at the risk of death to Government Hospital Ughelli. Let the Ibrus know that Agbarha-Otor is not their burial ground. Indeed all rich and well-placed Deltans should read the hand-writing on the wall. If you do not contribute to the development of your community you had better be buried in your Lagos. How I had hoped that Alex recovered and repented of his evil ways, but alas he has gone to his creator the final judge. When we all get there, we shall know the truth. All those make-believe in the Guardian newspaper is not the truth, at the best it is African tradition of not talking bad of the dead taken too far! | Posted By: Sunny Gregg Oteghekpen Posted On: Mar 20, 2012 Views: 399 | Ban of Police checkpoint on highways Ban of Police checkpoint on our highways is a welcome development and must be embrace by all. From what i understand from the statement of the Acting IG, he said all police checkpoints should be stop and highway patrol should be more effective. The Acting IG knew the menace the police force is causing to the society. Police are the ones perpetrating his robbery acts on the highways, banning the checkpoint is a thing well thought through by the Acting IG, you will agree with me that after the ban on checkpoints, the rate of robberies have reduced. Now, their whereabout is been monitored even the DPOs are not safe if any officer under their command is found wanting, so they are all very careful. I strongly support the ban, i know there is transformation going on in the police force, i believe some eggs will be flush out soon. They need to redeem the image of the force. thank you |
| Posted By: Uzoamaka Okereke Posted On: Mar 20, 2012 Views: 393 | I CRY FOR MOTHER AND CHILD The Nigeria police did not do their work properly. Imagine, after more than one year now they are still dragging their feet to get justice for Vivian. I call on the NGO's to take over this matter, if not the police will not do anything; I bet you. I know them. Look at: they have not forced Sunday and father to pay the agreed monthly #2000:00. Is police no more the law enforcement agency? What have they done? The only thing they did was to arrest Vivian, child and brother, and collect #5000:00 from them. Please one of these NGO's should take over this matter and get justice for Vivian and child. |

How many vote did you secure from the northerners, when you where running for this post as a senator.shame on you as foolish and shameless benin senator, who decided to sell the chance of a benin, from getting a chance of working with you as a driver. when you were telling the benins not to vote Daize Daguma in to power for marrying a northerner, and now what a shame that yours has finally come to this. Can you tell us what is the content in that brief case,is either Dollars or Euros. And that is what you refer to as personal and important document.Swallow your pride and regret your act quietly |
