Evidence has shown that industrialization, globalization and democracy has change a lot of things, hence the need for trained social workers to deliver the much needed social interventions required to drive home governmental benefits from democracy and also. salvage some ruins and ills of industrialization and modernization Many states and federal employees called social workers in Nigeria has nothing to do with that profession, many came in contact with the word for the first time on their appointment papers. This is not too sad, but the sad aspect is breeding people who knows not their left from in a noble profession like mine, they crash train in schools that cannot boast o one registered social worker; is it possible to give what you do not have? Social work has ethics, models and approaches, social workers do not publish pictures of vulnerable, do not collect transport money from clients, do not get entertained during inspection and assessment, do not talk lousily with clients and colleagues,do not misuse donated items..... It will be great if the states and federal agencies train their employees on ethics and models of social work practice, this i believe will sanitize the profession. The level of ignorance is high, unprofessional practices are even demanding for awards here and there. Please explore ISOWNigeria ethical training at no cost. We need to sanitize social work in Nigeria |

Can they explain, why innocent souls has to be killed for what they dont know about..... It is equally funny now, that situation had gone out of hand, the Emirs and Leaders of the Northern Muslim groups are coming up, to mediate. Nigeria is a nation rich of natural resources, no one is thinking of how, to develope on these resources and give jobs, to the young ones, coming up. However, it is hugely important for those of us trying to eradicate polio to tell the complete entire truth about the safety of the oral polio vaccine. It is a very very safe vaccine -- but it is not perfectly safe. Many statements by well-intentioned writers, like Anthony Aibangbee in the article above, simply say the vaccine is "safe," giving the impression of perfect safety. But in extremely rare cases, the oral polio vaccine can itself cause polio. This is called "Vaccine-associated paralytic polio," or VAPP. In many developed countries, the oral "live" vaccine (which contains weakened polio virus) has been replaced with the more expensive injectable "killed" polio vaccine, to eliminate the risk of VAPP. The World Health Organization notes that although the vaccine is "one of the safest vaccines in current use”, "WHO determined the annual incidence of VAPP in European countries to be 0.4–3.0 per million vaccinated children..." We are in to democratic rule so the word banned does not go with democracy. there are other democratic ways for the government to protect the industry. Lets take a look at every thing that has being banned in Nigeria,from chicken,turkey,cars, vegetable oil, etc.which one has worked, no one and no one will work. People in government should stop using the authority to their own personal interest . Nigeria is part of the world market today. so my opinion is we should uphold standard to importation of anything. |
