if you are going to recycle storylines . . .

Pair Lucinda, Barbara or Lisa with a gentle, loving younger man (like the Casey/Lila storyline a long time ago) and watch whoever is paired with the younger man struggle to understand his attraction to her and deal with the age difference. But, not Babs and Henry--it has to be done with a man who truly cares for the woman and courts her with gentleness and love. Not who does it with an ulterior motive.

That'd be a storyline worth watching.

This Show

is my favorite of all the day time shows. Always has been always will be. Granted they could get rid of the characters most fans don't want ie Teri, Liberty, Hunter just to name a few. Put the vets on more and give them some meaty storylines. Lucinda and Lisa and although Barbara has had some good screen time lately she needs to still be used more. These wonderful ladies could use a little romance just like the younger crowd. And the writing has gotten somewhat better though it still needs to be improved. And thank goodness tptb had enough sense finally to get rid of Audrey and Ralph and please don't ever bring them back. We have great vets that should be getting the airtime we don't need vets that have left other shows hogging the airwaves.

Not Pulling Out the Stops

If the ATWT powers-that-be want to "pull out the stops" to save the show during November sweeps, they should listen to the fans. I'm not impressed with this show.

The recipie for success is simple -- good storytelling; good casting; likeable characters; give respect and much screen time to the well-loved veteran actors.

BUT, instead, we are foisted with bad storytelling; lame casting and desperate stunt-casting; unlikeable characters; and no respect to the veteran actors...not to mention the rich history of this one-time great daytime drama.

I agree with the other posters, there is nothing "must-see" about ATWT. The powers-that-be are out of touch with what viewers want, and their sad attempts at luring new viewers have failed.

bad, bad, bad

Like Mason, I am a lapsed ATWT viewer and I can't seem to find anything to draw me back. I follow what happens on the soap boards and try to tune in a couple times a month when I have lunch with a friend who watches regularly during her lunch break. But, I dislike almost every character or current happening on the show. Get rid of Janet and Liberty. And Ralphie and Henry's mom.

Rosanna and Craig? Again? PLEASE. He nearly killed her and he did put her into a coma. And, she is banging him again? That is believable. NOT.

And why break up Henry and Vienna by having him sleep with Babs? I love Babs and I love Henry but I love Henry with Vienna.

Lily, Damien, Holden--who gives a rat's behind. Really. Been there, done that. Over and over and over again, for goodness sake.

Paul and Emily--like with Lily and Holden, it has been done to death.

I realize that this is a soap and storylines are recycled but: C'mon. With the same characters?

The one thing I can say--it was good to see Brad go. Never liked him. But, allthe crying and carrying on by Katie? Well, I just didn't buy it. Maybe b/c I never really warmed to Katie and Brad together. They just didn;t click for me. Especially when she jumped into marriage with him so soon after supposedly loving and almost marrying his brother.

With nothing to recommend this show, I'm not going to be a regular viewer again anytime soon.

ATWT/Brad's death

I'm a lapsed ATWT viewer (quit watching in 2008). I tuned back in last week for a handful of episodes, really wanting to enjoy the show again, but I just...didn't. I didn't really get what everyone was so excited about, to be quite honest. Nothing pulled me back in.

Brad's funeral

If TPTB really believe this is "do or die," then they should be paying better attention to details.

Brad Snyder had more than a mere dozen family members....yet his funeral was incredibly sparse. Where was Emma...Lily...Luke...Sage...JJ...and many of the other Snyder family members? Where was Kim and Bob Hughes? What about the people who worked on Oakdale Now? Any of the local fans of the show? Brad was a young man...did he have no friends other than Henry? Seems to me Vienna would have come back for her friend. where was she?

Yikes.

And, by the way, bringing back Maddie only serves to highlight was a lousy actress liberty is. Simialr ages and experience....but the actress who plays Maddie is so much better.
