Posted By: Richard Posted On: Dec 9, 2009 Views: 1938 | MfE is Lame and Awful This is just stupid. - Can't accept/reject calendar invites. - No support for provisioning. - No support for GAL. Nokia wanted to compete with Apple's iPhone and Google's Android but missed the target by a long shot. Nokia's lame excuse is that the N900 is a "lifestyle" device, and the fully-functional MfE is for the E series, E for "enterprise". Well ok, but clearly Apple is winning because they don't make that ridiculous distinction. Same for Android. Do you think the HTC Magic (T-Mobile myTouch3G) is an enterprise phone? No? Me either, but it supports Exchange fully! Sadly, at this rate, Maemo is going no where, and I've lost my love of Nokia. I'm going back to Android. Maybe Maemo 6 won't suck this bad, and that'll be the last time I try anything made by Nokia. |
Posted By: lost711 Posted On: Dec 8, 2009 Views: 1289 | How the heck can we not have Exchange 2003?? This seems like a major oversight in my opinion. We were looking at buying about ten of these for our road warrior engineers who love the platform. This is a complete deal killer for us. |
Posted By: André Posted On: Dec 7, 2009 Views: 1153 | N900 way below expectations I dumped an Iphone for the N900, because I once owned a glorious N770. I think that the POOR support for Google demonstrate 3 things: 1) Nokia doesn't know its market 2) Nokia is surely hoping to get OVI(mail) somewhere at our expense 3) Nokia doesn't know what competitive means Vitaly, you rock and feel for you when I think of Nokia's stup.. marketing managers that certainly have nice cars because we stupi... buy into their lazy skills to get these N devices anywhere. When I see what the N900 REALLY is compared to where it should be : IPhone+N810...., I really want to plug my Iphone back... ...but I trust in gutsy guys like you Vitaly. |
Posted By: munca Posted On: Dec 2, 2009 Views: 1016 | MFE 2003 suppport There are tons of small businesses using 2003 exchange server. The N900 needs to be able to bring those people on board otherwise we'll all stick to our e71's and symbian. Nokia might have to work a little OT to ensure the widest possible Maemo adoption. Not having Exchange 2003 support is a deal killer. |
Posted By: qhorse Posted On: Dec 2, 2009 Views: 1024 | Business Use If maemo is to be used for business use, there's no way around a corporate address book, a mail search and (but that's just personnal) flagging... Without this, there's no way I'm dropping my E71 |
Posted By: hhp Posted On: Dec 1, 2009 Views: 1057 | Sync with multiple google calendars What I really need is to sync with multiple google calendars. Now MfE syncs my own calendar very well, but I need several. Thanks! |
Posted By: Bishop Posted On: Dec 1, 2009 Views: 917 | no google mail for exchange ... there is no google in that...it should work with exchange and for google build M4G |

Posted By: Adam F Posted On: Nov 28, 2009 Views: 816 | 2003 support please :) i'm all for the 2003 support.. gmail is all well and great but that can be grabbed over IMAP too IIRC |
Posted By: EIPI Posted On: Nov 28, 2009 Views: 866 | Google Sync For Google sync, I would like to be able to sync the Google contacts with my On-device ones. Changes in one causes an update on the other. See bug 5835. Calendar sync should also be officially supported. Google and Google Apps (i.e. with custom domain) support please! |
