Another Entry?

I may be looking at this differently than others. I am looking at the shot on it's own merits, not necessarily the end result that the shot contributed to.

My entry would be: Tiger Woods, Canadian Open (1999, I think). He's in a fairway bunker, his feet are against the lip so he's standing a foot closer to the ball than he wants. He hits a six iron, 210 yards over a lake, puts it on the fringe, ten feet from the hole.

Yeah, it wasn't a major or another "big" tournament but he did go on to win the tournament and the shot itself was absolutely amazing.

Blue Monster?!

How is Craig Parry holing out from the fairway at the Blue Monster to win the playoff in 2004 not on this list?

Thanks for the great comments

Regarding the Tiger entries - one of the reasons we gave him two shots was that the 2008 putt (and it's not the only one of course) was definitely do-or-die. We could have just as easily selected the putt at Valhalla to tie Bob May. But the chip-in on No. 16 (and his reaction) will forever be remembered as one of the most exciting shots of all time. Palmer's drive on No. 1 at Cherry Hills, similarly, didn't win the tournament but it set the tone for an Arnie "charge." that did.

As for the Hogan shot, that's a big gaffe on our part and thanks to Mr. Everett, for pointing that out. Thanks to everyone for participating and having a little fun.

You are crazy

Tiger didn't win Master with chip in on 16th in 2005. It was make or go home in 2008.

Shouldn't The GREATEST golf shot of all time be a do or die? ps if you asked him he would agree

Mize shot at Augusta

Larry beat the two best players in the world at the time and if he missed the shot he could have hit it in the water. A finese shot like that is much harder than a full swing....

Hogan shot at Merion

He did not hit it to 6 feet; he got it on the green about 40 feet away. He had to make a 4 footer for par to get in the playoff.

Greatest Shot

The one you did not post in the poll was the Tiger Woods 6 iron from the bunker over water in the Canadien Open
