David-West, wristwatch, cup of tea saga: Correctio

David-West, wristwatch, cup of tea saga: Correction

the said “wristwatch gift etc.” were by one Mr. Bruce Rappaport... He wanted to participate in our novel “Pre-Payment Strategy” programme which made IMF loan irrelevant. But his proposals were turned down
A bribe is “A price, reward, gift or favour bestowed or promised with a view to pervert the judgement of or influence the action of a person in a position of trust”
The foregoing are extracts from Prof Tam David-West’s beautiful well written article written by the famous Prof himself
Surely our dear and very much revered Prof cannot say Mr Bruce Rapport did not give to influence the action or judgement of a person in a position of trust, in this case our very much revered Prof; when he parted with the wrist watch. That his proposals were turned down is of no moment because his action is still classified as one with a view to influence.
Indeed the watch was given to and accepted by our dear Prof, not to the West clan or Buguma, while the Church was given to and accepted by the Otueke Community not Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
We still hold that the action of the then military against our dear Prof was unjustified and barbaric just as we now hold that the noise over the Otueke Church has gone a few decibels too far.
Do we say dear Prof, listen to yourself or read your article!
We love you Prof that is why we disagree with you on this one, you are our real brother or mbire or is it egbon, since you have decided to remain in Ibadan instead of Buguma which is GOOD.

Onyemaechiiiii

Who knows tomorrow? Only the overseer who is the alpha and Omega, my good living God. I cannot wait for the day we ndi-igbo will be left unprepared according to Onyemaechi 1 of isi Aturu. We will wait to get to the bridge first and we will see how we are going to cross it.

I have never thought of what Mr Ibe said. I think hausa must wait until Ndi-igbo have our own share of Nigeria for 8 good years after jonathan. Then, Nigeria will then break. Yes, I buy this idea. Hausa must wait. They must be the people that start this fight of Nigeria disintegration. Ndi-yoruba's are cowards. They dance to any tune that suit them. Chameleons.

Useless country with useless looters.

Ango Abdullahi and his over confidence

The professor is a typical hausa agenda promoter. His hasty and betraying statements do not represent our opinion neither does he sound patriotic. He is not serving to ford the unity of the people of Nigeria as a professor.

While other great nationalists like Soyinka,Achebe and others in the north are busy making effort to ensure Nigeria stands as one, the man is rather thinking and voicing separation or secession in disguise.

He should go and sit down if he doesn't have any good advise for the unity of the country.

Nigeria is one indivisible Country. No one can divide it in a bit to achieve their selfish ends!

IBORI'S CONVICTION,A LESSON TO NIGERIA

To me i see the conviction&sentencing of the former governor James ibori of delta state to 13 years in prison by the southwark crown court in London UK on tuesday as a great lesson as well as food for thought to Nigerian judiciary and those Nigerians in position of authority. There are many 'iboris'in and out of government in Nigeria. The conviction of the ex-governor should teach those entrusted with state funds being made for the benefits and betterment of the lives&situations of the poor masses and common man and citizens to refrain from diverting it to their private pockets. It should also be clear to all that no matter how long it takes, you must surely reap whatever you sowed and no matter how long it takes the law will always catch up with those who act wickedly and unconsiderable to the cry of the poor masses&also those who act contrary to the law.To me iboris case has exposed the weakness in Nigeria's judicial system and has confirmed the level of criminal compromise. It is shameful indeed to Nigeria as a country that while a foreign country Uk feels appalled by this expressions of bovine predilection for the acquisition of ill gotten wealth,Nigeria keeps celebrating the worst species of the human race. There are many ibori's in and out of the Nigerian government. We will only be taken seriously in the world when we display sufficient courage to send them to where they belong. To me no one is above the law and it is a great lesson to our present&past leaders and even us the younger ones, because these rules are international.I also wish to task the EFCC to intensify efforts in the manner at which they intend to check corruption, especially among the public office holders, otherwise, people confidence in their ability to fight this social ills will also continue to wither.Ibori's convictions is a warning to our corrupt and heartless/wicked leaders in Nigeria&it had also brought relief to the people of the state whose funds he looted. North must Go

A spokesman for Elders in the North under the auspices of Arewa Elders Forum (AEF), Professor Ango Abdullahi has said the northern region could stand on its own as a country if Nigeria breaks into two.

......................................................

It really amuse me when i read what this Senior Al Queida boko harm jihadist said. What are they waiting for?? What is witholding them from declaring their Republic?? Why must them wait unti Nigeria breaks before separating?? Did Biafra wait for Nigeria break up before fighting for seccesion from the northern jihadist??

You people are not going anywhere, you most stay in one nigeria where you fought with your imperialist masters to enslave the Biafrans Economically and Politically. Biafrans will consider your Seccession from 2027 after their 2 term Presidencybecause we will patientlt wait to test the power and pay you people with the same coin.

except Igbo, others will be ready

Occasionally I make appearance, drop my droppings and zoom off. My droppings, to some good thinkers, is manure. But to some toddlers learning how to write using this "arena", my droppings is just another waste.

Hear it yee men from the land of the rising Sun, you will be caught napping when the time is come. At the eleventh hour, when little or nothing could be done, the veil shall be uncovered. And behold, your foolishness shall stand stark naked before you. The time to sow is now. Do away with the vanity in frivolous, empty and boastful talks. Get down to work. Start the education now. Tell our people the sad truth: Like termites, we build. No man is an Island unto himself.

When the bell tolls the North, the West and all who talk less of disintegration of Nigeria, shall be the most prepared. Thinking like the seven foolish virgins, some of my kins men will be eager to echo thunderously back at me, "we shall cross the bridge when we get there."

Your rejoinder to Mazi Nwaduru’s submission is swinging on trepidations. Indeed! To no avail I have tried to figure out the directives behind your obscurantist vagaries each time you push the button to present your brazen defense on this forum. I need not to question your objectives behind what you stand to achieve in your self- defeating verbal confrontation which always explicate your infantile projections against Biafra.

You may deny IBB as one of you now he is no longer relevant in active politics. But history has it that IBB under northern agenda signed the agreement that saw Nigeria as a member of (OIC) His machineries masterminded the falsification of 1991 population figures in favour of the North. His frivolous machineries created more Local governments in the North than in the South. These are to mention but few things he did for the North thus your arguments that he is working on his own personal agenda is a concocted fallacy.

Meanwhile, nobody cares if you accept issues on what the Law of Karma holds for everyone that participated in murdering pregnant mothers, innocent women & children of Biafran origins during the genocidal war of 1967 to 1970. You asked if Igbos are not suffering the same fate with middle belters? The answer is NO my dear. What we suffer today is scars from the bruises and ruins you maliciously inflicted on us during the war. As you can see, our scars are healing very fast, and our ruins are getting better on a supersonic speed. Gradually, we are getting better with our brothers in the South whom you turned against us out of greed.

Furthermore, it is wrong to pay the people you called Middle Belters with such a bad coin by distancing them from the North. My advice to people like you is to sensitize your society as a matter of urgency that Boko Haram will make their case worse. The only solution to their numerous problems is Western education they hate so much. On the contrary, children of the rich northerners are sent to school while the poor ones are recruited into the terrorizing sphere of visionless Boko Haram jihadists. I do not expect you to understand my position. Who cares when it matters most will cushion your inept characteristics as usual? You may be dreaming this time if you think so.

A day is fast approaching when Biafran citizens shall greet people like you good morning in the evening. Just keep flexing your muscles in a contest that is already a lost battle for you.

Long Live Biafra!
Long Live Igbo Nation!!
Long Live All Our Well Wishers!!!

Re: Bulus

Brother Paul(Bulus), are you so easily brainwashed? Those hausa/fulanis have tricked you people into believing that southerners are responsible for Boko haram. It is a pity that till date you still prefer to wallow in ignorance the way your fathers did when they were used for prosecuting the civil war but later dumped and are presently being killed by fulanis in your villages. Please, open your eyes. Those hausa/fulani foresee a problem that is why they are telling you this crap so as to push you people in the front. It is a pity.

IBORI SENTENCED TO !£ YEARS JAIL IN UK

What could not be done by the Nigerian judiciary was done by the British judiciary. This goes to show how corrupt the Nigerian judiciary is.The justice system there is the highest bidder gets justice.
I cannot imagine Senior Advocate who were employed and paid a lot of money from public funds by the anti-corruption agency (EFCC) to prosecute its case against a Managing director who stole money was deliberately prosecuted to favour the man.The Judge had to express his disappointment at the shoddy manner the case was presented.Up till this moment I think there is no comment from the Nigerian Bar Association.
As for Ibori's case the cost of prosecution from public funds should be subtracted from the proceeds of all money recovered from his fraudulent activities.
Kudos to the British Government and I hope other countries where stolen Nigerian monies are being hidden like Swiss Banks,USA,South Africa,Dubai,Germany will follow the example of the UK as there is hunger and poverty in Nigeria

Mazi Nwaduru

Who ever concoted and wrote that fictions which you are happy to present on this forum is living in his own pigment of imagination. He is nothing but a wishful thinker and nothing short of a nollywood script writer mentality.

In your own judgement the middlebelt region is simply reaping what they sow. According to you they are in this mess today because of the atrocities they commited on the Igbos during the Nigerian civil war. If I may ask why are Igbos suffering the same fate as the middlebelters? Are Igbos probably not reaping what they sow so many years ago as well? This is for those that often remember the Law of Karma whenever it suit their purpose.

I asked all these questions because I notice always in your write-ups of how Igbos have never stop being at the receiving ends of any political situation in Nigeria.

Maybe you don't know, Babagida is a Gwarri man from Niger state. Babagida is not someone you could refer to as a Hausa/Fulani man. Just like Mamman Vatsa and co he is equally from those categories of minority in the middlebelt. If you believe he was checkmating the influence of the army officers from the middlebelt axis, then on whose interest would he be doing that?

What we all knew was that Babagida right from day one has his own personal agenda to execute. Only him knew exactly what he wanted and how to go about achieving them for his own personal interest. And of course, we all knew how he ended it. So that opionion you are trying to project is a nullity.

Federal govt. is free to take this lightly, okay!!

"U.S. says Boko Haram plans attacks on Nigerian capital
By Joe Brock | Reuters – 6 hrs agoEmailtweetShare0PrintABUJA (Reuters)

- The United States has warned its citizens living in Nigeria that Islamist sect Boko Haram is planning attacks on the capital Abuja, including major hotels there.

Boko Haram, which wants sharia, Islamic law, more widely applied across Africa's most populous nation, has killed hundreds in gun and bomb attacks this year.

"The U.S. Embassy has received information that Boko Haram may be planning attacks in Abuja, Nigeria, including against hotels frequently visited by Westerners," an emergency message on its website said on Wednesday.

"The Nigerian government is aware of the threat and is actively implementing security measures."

The U.S. authorities issued a similar warning in November, naming the Hilton, Sheraton and Nicon Luxury as Abuja hotels that could be targets for Boko Haram, but it later retracted it.

Nigerian authorities said then that high profile hotels were always a possible target but security was tight and people should not live in fear. However, occupancy at those hotels dipped after the last U.S. warning.

The embassy did not name specific targets this time. The Hilton in Abuja said it always took security seriously.

Boko Haram strikes usually target police, authority figures and churches in the mostly Muslim north, although there have been a handful of deadly attacks in and around Abuja, which is home to the president's villa, government ministries and foreign embassies.

The sect claimed responsibility for a bombing at police headquarters in Abuja last year before a car bomb at the U.N. Nigeria headquarters in August killed 26 people.

The police said they killed one member of the sect and arrested 13 others on Tuesday during a crackdown in the sect's home base of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state in the remote northeast on borders with Chad, Cameroon and Niger.

Boko Haram shot dead two people on Monday in Maiduguri, where it has carried out almost daily attacks in recent months.

President Goodluck Jonathan, who is a Christian from the southern oil-producing Niger Delta, has been criticized by Nigerians and foreign diplomats for not getting a grip on violence in the north, from where many feel he is detached.

A bomb near a church in northern city Kaduna on Easter Sunday killed over 30 people but Jonathan was on holiday in Abuja and his team declined to make any comment.

Boko Haram's purported leader, Abubakar Shekau, has appeared in two al Qaeda style videos posted on the Internet this year but has made only vague threats and no clear demands.

He said his main objective was to spread Islamic law, free its imprisoned members and kill "infidels" who were working against it, whether Christian or Muslim.

Security experts believe Shekau is likely the leader of the main faction of the sect based in Maiduguri, which typically targets the police who killed its members, prisons and kills religious figures who speak out against its insurgency.

There are several factions within Boko Haram spread across the north and some have loose ties with Islamist groups outside the country, including al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, security experts and Western diplomats say.
