| Posted By: Onuma Posted On: Apr 7, 2012 Views: 562 | Onyemaechi 0nyemaechi, your body language typically shows that (Ibughi ezigbo nwa afo Igbo), Is clear to every nwafo Igbo that most developments recorded in Igbo land after civil war was done through communal efforts of Nigbo, schools, rural electrification projects, roads, bridge etc, any dis unity u found in Igbo land was politically motivated, like what happened in Anambra State when OBJ used Esele to kidnap Ngige formal Gov, of Anambra state & kill him. If not political motivation from 0BJ, In a normal circumstances Esele na Uga will never think of such because he will not escape it. It happens b/w Akintola & Awolowo, Unlike Tukur PDP chairman, he is not the consensus candidate of the northern political elites in PDP, but because of political influence & interest of Jonathan, he imposed Tukur on them against their wish, it does not mean that north are not united. So you find such in every tribe or race where the power that be has interest. It could happen to any tribe in Nigeria. If Jona decide to be sponsoring violence in South West or North he can easily do that. Mr Onyemaehi I disagree with you, Biafrans are united with zero fraction. Writing using Igbo name does not make you onye Igbo, you was born outside Igbo land & you don't go to Igbo land to contribute your own quota through your kinsman, community, or village automatically you are not onye Igbo. It is because you don't no what is happening in Igbo community. You will only no what is happening in Abuja where peoples opinion are tuned down & give it wrong interpretations. Igbo Biafrans we are united, you are not one of us had it being you are one of us, you would have known that we are united. Guy gbara ogwu gi nuo. |
| Posted By: Ejike Ezeja Ugbene Ajima Posted On: Apr 7, 2012 Views: 552 | subsidy removal is not helpful Since the removal of subsidy things has change to the last. evey thing is rising while the goverment is making up to 3.5 million naira daily. I want to ask a question. why did the goverment deregunate our subsidy addiction? It bafles me a lot i think about this every time. In my optimistic vision. i think this may result to inpeachment if goodluck jonathan did not use his 99 percent intelligency.or he loose his position as president i guess! |
| Posted By: Onyemaechi Posted On: Apr 7, 2012 Views: 547 | unity and igbo One of us tacitly admitted somehow that "As for igbo unity, when the time come, we will deal with it" He is fair, but does not sound as if he appreciates the kind of unity I wrote about. Igbo is not in war against one another. There is no point thinking of unity in that sense. I talk about Igbo being educated on the need to work harmoniously as termites do. Boasting of individual success is good. But how far can individual successes take a nation where collective effort is bound to succeed? Igbo is expert in individual achievement. Igbo should learn the other type required to build a nation. |
| Posted By: Awotokunbo Olamilekan Posted On: Apr 7, 2012 Views: 541 | Fuel Subsidy I think Our government don't know what subsidy is. It's the money granted by state to keep down the prices of commodities. Now,they want You and I to pay for it and since we aren't practicing unwritten constitution we should have better knowledge of what our constitution is.The major responsibliity of a state is to provide 'good life' for it's citizens, protect them and their properties, here we are with lack of security and the presidency feed with 3m Naira per day. Can someone give me an excuse why revolution shouldn't take place? |

Tepiko Brown. I remember Jide Afolabi having one igbo secretary when he was going to have beer at surulere beer pallor. My advice is, do not tell stories if you do not know history. As for igbo unity, when the time come, we will deal with it. |

| Posted By: Ochiagha Posted On: Apr 6, 2012 Views: 687 | Re:Tepiko Brown Who is this fella? I beg make we hear word. He must be a Walter Mitty character - day dreamer with connection to the aviation industry.(lol) My LGA shares borders with Akwa Ibom and I can honestly say that there was hardly any presence of Efik/Ibibios in Biafran 62 Brigade after Major Achibong (Brigade Major) was reported missing in battle - his disappearance remain a mistry to some of us. As my learned friend Ezinwanne pointed out, Biafra at the later stage of the war was purely an Igbo affair and remain so till this date. Using my favourite phrase, the non Igbo areas of Eastern Nigeria fell like a "pack of cards" because of little resistance by the locals. We kept federal troops at Ikot Ekpene for over a year until 2 weeks before the end of the war. In Igbo Heartland, Owerri was recaptured from Federal troops which clearly shows the resolve of our (Ndigbo) people. Biafra is the only solution for the rapid development of Ala-Igbo. PHCN only exist by name in my village and LGA despite the fact we are within the Abia Capital Territory. How can PHCN expect us to pay Electricity Bills when we do not get up to ten(10) hours of electricity in a Month? You simply cannot engage in meaningful manufacturing in my locality when PMS retails as high as N150/litre. |
| Posted By: Tepiko Brown Posted On: Apr 6, 2012 Views: 715 | Selective Amnesia OR Selective Noisemaking Selective Amnesia OR Selective Noisemaking We have had so much noise making over The controversial church gift to the people of Otueke by Gitto Construzioni Generali Company Limited (CGC), who elected to reconstruct the church and donate to the Otueke community. Won over by Governor Fashola’s sterling leadership qualities one had a little bent towards the ACN though the suspicion has been there all the time that the ACN is an infant PDP striving to be like daddy when it grows older and this current case of Selective Amnesia OR Selective Noisemaking buttresses that suspicion. IF you take a census of government commissioned road construction by big contractors all over the country including ACN territory you will find that in some villages the tarring branches off the expressway to front-yards that belong to VIPs, why did the Noisemakers omit to shout on roof tops over such nonsense. Investigate who built the Country homes of these Noise makers when the were in Government and you will find that it is contractors that were handling Government Contracts, how come it was convenient to omit to remember the bidding of our constitution then. It was even alleged by one paper that Gitto Construzioni Generali Company Limited (CGC) built Obasanjo’s Library if true then one seriously suspects the ACN and the other noise-bags are suffering from Selective Amnesia OR Selective Noisemaking. “Former Petroleum Minister, Professor Tam David-West, was jailed for receiving a gift of a wristwatch and a cup of tea from a contractor with which the government had dealings in the 1980s.” The foregoing mention of the erstwhile Petroleum Minister’s case of a gold watch gift without the mention of the Selective Amnesia OR Selective Noisemaking of the corrupt military government that jailed him and the national outrage their action invoked in the Sun Editorial is a case of Selective Amnesia OR Selective Noisemaking by the Editor The Utueke Church does not belong to Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) and no one has said he or she heard GEJ specifically instruct or direct Gitto to construct a Church in Utueke for free. Please let’s get serious. One can understand if Nigerians call for or insist that the Senate or House committees for Works investigates all Gitto(CGC) Contracts since Obasanjo till date including the 2nd Niger Bridge and even the abandoned bit of the Port-Harcourt to Bonny Island Road based on the claim by the Sun that Gitto is “a contractor which has been reported to be having problems with some of the contracts it is handling in the country”. Is Gitto not the White-man whose face we saw on National Television at the Port-Harcourt and Abuja PDP Conventions or primaries sitting and sharing jokes with VIPs? |

| Posted By: Ezinwanne Posted On: Apr 6, 2012 Views: 687 | Tepiko Brown What Tepiko Brown intends to say is quite clear, yet how he says it is tortuous and tenuous. Biafra was an absolutely justified effort by a region at self determination. However, at a point certain elements of this region caused an implosion that clearly undermined collective efforts in a profound way. In layman’s terms, only a quarter or much less of non Igbos in the old Eastern region remained loyal to Biafran cause till the very end. And these loyal ones were the ones who had burned their bridges so much that there was no way back. As for that bit about Yorubas fighting for Biafra… That’s stretching the issue Mr Brown. The last time I checked, there were 4 or 5 Yoruba soldiers caught up by circumstances and peculiar events in the army and the Nigerian state in 1966 and 1967 that saw them entrapped in the East at the outbreak of the war. The most well known of these fellows were Col. Victor Banjo and a certain Lt. Ola Ogunmekan. That hardly qualifies as Yorubas fighting for Biafra. It wasn’t as if they matched willy-nilly over to the Biafran side out of personal conviction that the secessionist cause was a just and compelling one You could as well say Igbos too fought for Nigeria as officers like Major General Cyril Iweze and Maj. Gen Ike Nwachukwu amongst a handful spent the war on the Nigerian side. Now back to the main issue… If Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu makes a call to the Nigerian authorities to rehabilitate or recompense former Biafran combatants in the true spirit of no victor no vanquished and Mr. Brown takes objection to such call, such a mprotestation is not justified at all. Apart from Philip Effiong or so I hardly recall any other non Igbo who has arisen to speak about the Biafran war being a just war. Or who has remained vocal and loyal to Biafra. Instead what we see is a concerted attempt by minorities to rewrite history and paint Igbos as monsters that roped them into a futile war. Even today, the official version is that Ojukwu imposed a war on Nigeria because of his ambition and greed. Nobody conveniently mentions the murderous and genocidal conduct of Gowon and his men or the terror and rejection inflicted on the Eastern region. With this kind of background you hardly expect Iwuanyanwu to include the non Igbos who have done their best to distance themselves from the Biafra to be counted as beneficiaries of his clarion call. Tepiko Brown, we appreciate what you seek to say. But the truth is that Biafra has grown in the last 45years to become an exclusively Igbo issue. That is the tragedy of what has become one of the most genuine cases for Liberty and Freedom |
| Posted By: Onyemaechi Posted On: Apr 6, 2012 Views: 644 | kendo I can see you are very passionate about Biafra. You can add more to your armory by being a good listener. I read your response but could not understand you. May be I lack what it takes to measure up to your level. Or, to risk saying it, you read my piece in a hurry. That is bad enough. |
| Posted By: Udenze Posted On: Apr 6, 2012 Views: 504 | Re:True Federalism Not For Ndigbo Ndigbo has passed the era of true federalism in Nigeria, true federalism to Igbo race is just like taking Igbo race back to 44 years analog system of government. Ndigbo will never allow redundant brains down south who understands what future holds for them after 44 years of experience to take Ndigbo back to 44 years, (tufiakwa aru), backward never. South west & south south are clamoring for TF today because the federal system they fought & kill Ndigbo in our numbers to uphold did not favour them after 44 years. You people are telling Igbo man to go back to what he told you people 44 years back, what does this suppose to mean to Igbo man? Those who are calling for T.F without excluding Igbo race as part of the people they wants to federate with are the main problem facing this already dead country. We have named our price, independent nation of Biafra, we don't want to federate with any body. Why do you people always like to make things difficult in this failed state? Biafra is for Igbo race,we don't include non Igbos to be part of Biafra. Why South West & non Igbos in South South should be including Ndigbo in their 44 years analog T.F system of government? Ndigbo believed in live & let live. We are not & will never go against T.F for those who wants to practice it, they believed that with T.F they will develop their country & deliver good governance to her citizens, this is very okay for them. Fellow Biafrans the problems facing Biafra nation today is South west & non Igbos in South South not mainly the north, North infiltrates into Biafra through their alliance with the South West & non Igbos in South South. enemies of Biafra nation are from south, We must focus our liberation war on South west & those non Igbos in South South, if we can be able to defeat them North will just die natural death, Boko Haram north is killing Igbos today because of South west & non Igbos in South South, it is because if Ndigbo should retaliate now the north will infiltrate Ndigbo through South west & non Igbos in South South, so therefor enemy at home must not be spared because they are more dangerous than external enemies. The enemies we are searching for up are here with us in down south. Is high time Ndigbo should point direct accusing finger to them without this i don't no! agbaghi uzo owele ngba ogaghi echi. Otto Von Bismarck of Germany told Germans that b4 they will have one united Germany there must be a Franco Prussia war, they ignored him, after 40 years they fought the war & defeated France & took over some part of Prussia territory from France. Prussia, north & western Germany came together to form one United Germany. Chief Raph Uwazurike, Eze Igbo gbabgulugbulu II will call Tinubu & their non Igbo counterpart in South South to other to stay clear on the way of Igbo Biafra nation. Long live Biafra Long live Igbo ndi oma |
| Posted By: Kendo Posted On: Apr 6, 2012 Views: 528 | Onyemaechi Education Indeed! Using education to crown your precarious assumption on Biafra is a travesty of judgment. If we must reflect soberly on a broadened perspective, you will find out that your conclusion lacks the credence to erect a yardstick in measuring Biafran unity. In your personal definition, education is an integral part of unity. But I can assure you that it does not end there. If I must educate you a little, unity in this 21st century is a matter of working under the provisions of Laws devoid of compromises. Biafra is freedom, progress, and productivity because the law will be effective on any flouter. Biafran nation shall work under constitutional agreement no matter whose OX is gored. Again, the struggle for a sovereign nation of Biafra transcends pessimistic perceptions. It is a matter of doing a particular thing at a particular stage. When “UNITY” becomes our headache, we have enough pharmacists capable of producing anti-headache analgesics to tame it. For those crying more than the bereaved on Biafran unity, I can assure all of you that necessity one of the integral mechanisms that will define Biafran unity. (Make no mistake about this) Furthermore, the struggle for Biafra does not end on the Sun Forum and other media outfits. I will urge cynics to visit MASSOB office which is not hidden to anyone for comprehensive information on Biafra. Biafra is a continuous process that will not stop until flags of the rising Sun hovers freely on the Eastern Sky. Ling Live Biafra! Long Live Igbo Nation!! Long Live Our Well Wishers!!! |
| Posted By: Tobias Charles Posted On: Apr 6, 2012 Views: 535 | Subsidy Its so unfortunate that our wicked president Goodluck Jonathan has no feeling for poor people for selfishly removing subsidy of fuel.In the city I live in,everynight people put on their petrol engines, that was when petrol was N65/litre,but recently by night the whole city will be in total blackout. If our president can consider people let him do something about this. But if he doesnt, then poor people should be prepared to use their candles. |
