The End

For a going away gift, this poem’s for you, Jeremy!

Skankalie Banks is now gone and no more
And never again, will we watch that town whore
Free John McBain and let him find someone new
Maybe in Port Charles, he’ll find a love that’s true

Thanks for the memories. I will miss your column!

The End :(

I agree, a lot of the last scenes of OLTL were lacking or crazy. I did like the prison break and seeing all of the "criminals" loosed on Llanview, but Vicki and Clint being shot was a little too much and nonsensical. I liked Cole getting a second chance - his character was TOTALLY ruined. I never, ever liked Destiny/Matthew storylines, together and separately they SUCKED! I really, really HATED being screwed over a la JJ Abramson re: Matthew dying at Thanksgiving time (that actually put a little damper on my mood for the holiday :( - that was cruel). It was GREAT seeing Lindsey and even Stacey in hell! I felt really bad for Ford, he had "repented" and was trying to be a good Dad. So sad, and makes one think about one's "eternal salvation". That was always something I liked about OLTL - they weren't afraid to present some real, honest portrayals of Christianity and other religions (remember the Jewish Segal family in the early days?). The best part of the end was seeing Trevor!!! Gave me hope. :)

I've always popped in here and there to watch Y&R (I used to watch them regularly a long time ago). I disliked a lot of their storylines, but the acting has always been great. Unfortunately for them, I've become a "Nate" fan (when I'm up). I checked out "Days", but it just didn't interest me. I stopped watching GH a while ago. Instead of AMC and The Chew, I watch the news or Anderson Cooper or PBS (which I watch a lot of, no cable) or not at all. I really don't like The Talk, especially since Holly Robinson Peet is no longer on the show. Now that I can watch The Talk, I don't want to. :) I now have 2 free hours of non-TV time to myself. Yay! :)

Rest in peace OLTL. (((((((HUGS))))))) to Jeremy, all the fans of his column and to the cast and crew of OLTL. :) I will check out Port Charles when OLTL comes, but that's about it (I'm a fan of The Doctors). :) Bye!

Todd, Blair, Tea, Victor, and some other stuff

“Rumors that Trevor St. John and Florencia Lozano will follow the Mannings to Port Charles certainly have me more than interested, not only because they are superior characters to the Mannings, but because without their inclusion, the Mannings' presence would make little sense.”

I will never understand your blind insistence that Victor and Tea are somehow superior characters to Todd and Blair. As someone who has watched OLTL for decades, I have far more of an emotional attachment and investment in Todd and Blair than I EVER have for Tea (who was played by a fantastic actress) or Victor (who, from my perspective, was played by a smirking cold fish.)

Todd and Blair (especially originally) had more chemistry and more humor, and because the characters were better established and tied to the canvas, they held more importance to me. I will never be swayed that Tea and Victor are better, in any sense.

Of course I also don’t get the strange hatred of anything that smacks of a normal life: marriage, children. They seem to be anathema to you. But I guess that’s to be expected, since you also dislike the only remotely tolerable member (Hasselbeck) of The View. Now THERE’S a show that could benefit from a good canceling.

As for having Bob Guza back for GH, bite your tongue. And I wonder how you can be a Natalie hater, but a Carly (of GH) cheerleader? They are essentially the same: nasty, selfish, manipulative, slutty, liars. The difference is Carly is 15 years older. No thanks.

OLTL on YouTube

What i'm doing isn't one of the poll choices: watching classic OLTL on YouTube... with 43 years of history behind it, i can get caught up on before i started watching (and reliving classic moments once i reach when i first tuned in) so OLTL is still a part of my daily viewing experience.

Finale Thoughts

Argh! Although I knew it would take longer than usual due to your new show (Congrats on a successful opening, BTW), the wait for your final column has been interminable!

I actually liked the finale cliffhanger. The surprise was not ruined for me, which, thanks to soap magazines and the internet, has only happened a couple of times in the last decade. In fact, if Dorian, Marty and Renee (and, to a lesser extent, Kevin and Nathan Fillion’s Joey) had been included instead of "Destiny's Child", I would have no complaints about the finale.

It’s been a joy reading your column over the past few years, Jeremy. I will miss that snark (From this column alone, I LOL at the ideas of Mitch & Stacy in hell, John shooting Natalie and Blair singing in bed). Best of luck to you!
