| Posted By: Sove Posted On: Apr 18, 2012 Views: 886 | least fav when personality and looks combined, Kelly was my least favorite. too uptight and proper for me, and not a fan of turtlenecks. Favorite ones is definitely Erica first and Crystal second. Both girls are flirty, but not straight out slutty.Leilani is third , mostly because she's so short more than just small breast. Dig her personality though. |

| Posted By: Upset Posted On: Apr 4, 2012 Views: 3127 | Reply @Chaotic Well to be honest with you, you replying and actually taking in the feedback gives me (hopefully other fans as well), relief to show you are actually concerned. Although u may feel that you don't need to explain yourself, it helps people to understand your situation. But ya I see you are actually trying to fix the bugs, you have my respect, but you do know you have set high expectations for your games because of how great they started out, so I wish you the best in satisfying your fans. I'll continue playing and see what comes of your newer games |

| Posted By: Chaotic Posted On: Apr 2, 2012 Views: 699 | Bugs A few notes on what some people are discussing here... Having Beta testers isn't the magic wand that people some people seem to think it is. Firstly, I have tried using Beta testers in the past, but most of them never get back to you after you send them the game, and those who do reply still miss some. Even the almighty Serge who always sends me a brilliant and concise list of bugs he found misses plenty, and he’s one of the best bug finders. Obviously, I also beta test myself, and I still miss some. To give you some example of what's involved though, Lissette included around 3000 links in over 1000 html files, and used around 75 variables with different values as part of the game. I think there were about 5 'dead links' when I released it (although there were a handful of other problems with variables). To me, 5 out of three thousand is pretty good. Maybe my perspective also helps with this. There’s always at least a hundred bugs i fix before I upload the release version. Extra note : I did actually accept bosbrand's offer of a Java tool to check through it. I'm using it starting with the new pool party. All bugs are resolved within 48 hours anyway once it goes public (nearly a month after I bought Mass Effect 3 and I'm still waiting for them to solve ONE bug), and most are happy to accept that. If they really want a 100% bug free game, then they just wait a day and play it then. |
| Posted By: Azzahzel Posted On: Apr 2, 2012 Views: 763 | but then again, all we have here is opinion Now,since all we can do is guess,i'd say that he: a.didn't notice it(yeah beta testers,i know,we've discussed this already) b.he didn't have the time c.the actual reason(hey, don't ask me!) Now please,@ExLibris,don't act like the media and quote a portion of a sentence. If you want answers so bad, there's a "suggestions, feedback & bug reports" button where you can do what it says. You can either be quiet about why there are bugs and just report them or you can ask him why he doesn't fix them before the release of the game. If you already HAVE asked and didn't get a reply then you should know that you won't get an answer. The people on shark's lagoon can also ask each-other all they want, but they're not Chaotic,so if he doesn't want to explain himself, then he won't. Simple isn't it? |
| Posted By: ExLibris Posted On: Apr 1, 2012 Views: 593 | opinion is subjective @Azzahzel "A broken link or a misspelled piece of code, resulting in an obvious bug is,indeed simple and just sloppy" That's true. But it's also true that it's very simple to test for and fix. In fact someone on Shark's Lagoon (where Chaotic used to post quite regularly, and which is also the source of several of several HTML games inspired by Chaotic) wrote a script to do just that. The question many people have started asking (at least on Shark's Lagoon) is why doesn't Chaotic do this *before* he releases a game. |
| Posted By: Azzahzel Posted On: Apr 1, 2012 Views: 724 | Do read my posts Seriously, read what i write or have written. I'm not saying that the game has a major issue that gives you a bluescreen and formats your entire hard drive. A broken link or a misspelled piece of code, resulting in an obvious bug is,indeed simple and just sloppy, but it does happen. That's what i've been trying to say in the last 3 messages(this one included). And for Pete's sake,Shark's lagoon is a different site with its own fanbase,so quit praising them as some misunderstood children that got beaten by the "i don't want your help" stick. Chaotic's doing a good job here, you all keep playing his games even though some say "nuuuh,i'll ermpfh...quit...and i'll tell mom and my friends how bad this site is,so nobody comes back...". My advice to you all: quit hounding him and let Chaotic do his jo...HOBBY! It's annoying enough to deal with what everyone wants, let alone more complaints about how there's a smudge on the shirt of girl X in scene Y,or how the image/link's effed up. Let's face it,it's simple enough to just skip to the next choice like real cheaters when there's a broken link and well if an image's missing well you just don't give a damn and go on to the next, which is usually there. Spelling might annoy most grammar Nazi's too,but hey,i bet Chaotic's english isn't perfect(yeah i know he makes crude spelling mistakes, get over it) but it's only a stain for one scene(or a few,but not MOST of the game). @ExLibris Well what can i say,i do agree on Sophie,as i hope you've read, but wha? No distinct personalities? You've got to be kidding me. They are mostly alike(gets drunk, loses all inhibitions and gets bedded in the end) but they do have their likes & dislikes. You can't force Kelly into dancing as a stripper, but she can act as a human's rights activist and ruin it for everyone. Rachel on the other hand is dying for something fun and naughty and wouldn't mind doing something that's not TOO outrageous. Evana's relying on you to do all the work, but then again she is testing you all the way till the end. If you haven't noticed at least this, then you've got a problem with judging people's character. Most girls behave in a similar pattern: you go out,the wild "what should we do now?" phrase appears and you've got a finger up your nose, trying to figure out how to make it fun for her, especially at first, when you don't know what she likes. And yes,i am indeed a maniac that writes all this stuff in a forum about a virtual date game, mostly off-topic too,but then again you are currently reading this... |
| Posted By: ExLibris Posted On: Mar 31, 2012 Views: 829 | my opinion @Azzahzel The kind of testing that's being suggested is not subjective gameplay issues. It's things like broken links and spelling mistake, which are either wrong or they're not. Either way they're really easy to test, which is why it's frustrating that Chaotic doesn't seem willing to do so (or to get someone else to do so on his behalf). Based on my experience with the AIF community and Shark's Lagoon, if Chaotic advertised for beta testers he'd have no problem getting them. On topic: Least attractive physically is definitely Sophie for me. Personality is more difficult because I personally find that a lot of the girls don't have distinct personalities, but I'd give the nod to Latricia for behaving like a modern human being rather than an elf in a fantasy setting. |
| Posted By: Azzahzel Posted On: Mar 30, 2012 Views: 969 | Debate time Ok,let's point out something here, there was someone actually expecting Chaotic to follow his own release dates. I agree that he can delay a game for as long as he wants and it's his own damned right to do so,but not everyone thinks that way,Upset. Bugs are an issue in everything, but how about this: i've been a beta tester for a game called Darkspore(EA games) and they said "play the game, all feedback will be appreciated, blah blah blah",so i did. I've sent them huuuuge messages about how to make the game less dull and repetative(a.k.a. go from point A to point B in a closed corridor and kill anything in your path, then repeat). You can probably guess how much of that was implemented, right? Chaotic may not be the most considerate person to his fans, but he does listen to most of the complaints and actually does something about it,however minute it might seem to everyone. Imagine if Lisette's storyline was great, the game had no bugs and you start off with this girl looking at you with over-sized alien eyes...not a personal turn-on. Beta-testers are also not a perfect solution to point out what needs fixing. If he doesn't find people dedicated enough to test when he wants/says,he might as well post a message saying "hey,i've released the game, come test it"...aaaand we'll all go test it. We're in a way beta-s,so just point the issues out and that's it. Huge companies still don't have an excuse to their bull****,which is equally annoying as reaching a dead-end here without a reason! If you've played WoW and gotten stuck,Blizzard's solution is to teleport you to an inn somewhere,so if you're killing a boss with your friends and get stuck you might as well have your character commit suicide, because it'll be faster. Mass Effect 3(which did a terrible job at recreating Jessica Chobot) are redoing their ending, because there was an avalanche of complaints worldwide. The list goes on and i can rant all day on this,so please, appreciate what we have here and do try to enjoy yourself. |
| Posted By: Upset Posted On: Mar 30, 2012 Views: 846 | Continued... Continue, and as for him accepting help, I'm sure there are people out there to willing 1)test for bugs for free before a game is released, and 2) help improve the total quality of his games without expecting any compensation from him, so i don't see why he would not accept it. But i agree it is up to him, just if it's to better his games, it can only be beneficial to accept this help. |
| Posted By: Upset Posted On: Mar 30, 2012 Views: 739 | Reply to Azzahzel Well to start, games that are prouduced by huge companies DO indeed have bugs, but that is because they are HUGE games to even begin with. They know what they are working with yet the bugs never take away entirely from the whole gaming experience, on the other hand while the bugs involved with Chaotic's games do prevent the games from being truly enjoyable. All I am saying is, he shouldn't rush to release a game to fit it in a schedule/day its "due", but he should release a game when it is actually complete. I'd rather (and I'm sure other fans as well) would rather have him take his time and release games that are actually completed with no bugs, than have him rushing to release a game on a given date just to get it out to the public. And yes, some games are free, but the sad thing is even the games in the member's section contain this problem, therefore making it not worth paying for. If I pay for a game, I expect to enjoy it at the very least, and to have it somewhat tested before bugs before it is released. And yes he is just one guy, but the bugs encountered don't take a rocket scientist to find, fans, who use the site mentioned in my previous comment (the-new-lagoon.com) always point out bugs, i'm sure if Chaotic took the time to "play" his game after he is "finished" he'd see these bugs, because like i said theyre not that hard to find. And, that's the thing, Chaotic is (or i'm hoping he is) making these games for his fans, and to you i'm just some random person on the internet, but to him, i'm a fan and he should respectfully take all his fans opinions into consideration, because constructive critism never hurts. There is always room for improvements. Finding bugs before release games is something little that i'm sure he can do. Especially for paying members. And for the story, that's the problem, people don't want to read a book obviously, but they also don't want a game lacking a story. People play these "virtual date" games because they are different than others, therefor the reason behind the stories and "quest" to get with the girls, just some of these girls lack character and a decent story to follow along with. But like you said it's just my opinion, but Chaotic should take all of his fans opinions into consideration, whether good or bad. If someone told me something was wrong with something i was doing, i'd work towards fixing the problem. That is all i'm saying And no, he does a great job creating the looks for the girls, they are great even with the worst one (in my opinion), Leilani, Chaotic did a great job creating this character (yes i think she is ugly), but i have to give him credit that he does a great job creating this characters and images. So ya, the looks are great, just the lack of story, gameplay, and issues with the bugs are the problems. And to go back to the main discussion, Leilani is the worst, well just because i've seen better looking asians (real life or 3D) and she has no features that interest me, nor is her personality all that great either. |
| Posted By: Azzahzel Posted On: Mar 28, 2012 Views: 846 | Chaotic's games Really? I mean, really,Angry Fan(Upset)? A game with no bugs? That's like cutting off one of your fingers and saying "oh i'm carbon based like lizards are,so it should grow back". Even games, produced by the major companies have HUGE amounts of bugs and you expect a free game, made by one person to have no flaws? And yes,he may not want help and yes,it could be better if he worked with someone else, but that's up to him. You're in no position to order him around or require something, unless you are: a.his sponsor, which he relies on and/or b.someone he respects You're just some random person off the net with your own beliefs on how things should be run here. The story line could indeed use some improvement. Then again we're not expecting a bestseller here. You want story? -> buy a book! All that's expected here is to get a girl randy enough to lose her clothes and inhibitions, nothing more! Also,be more specific? Is it the looks you don't like or the gameplay? If it's the looks, then we're finally back to the main topic: Who do we dislike the most?(except complainers) My personal opinion(again): Sophie must go. I'm not into the "scullfaced drug whore" thing. Erica's also on my "dislike" list, because, well,i just don't like her looks. Alex and Kelly are ok,but the rest shouldn't even BE here. And DO try to stick to the topic, because i'm done explaining basic concepts to people that know nothing or close to nothing on the subject. |
| Posted By: Upset Posted On: Mar 28, 2012 Views: 880 | Still No More Hope First of all, to the guy who said chaotic fixes bugs in games... in my honest opinion, whether game is free or not, it shouldn't be released with bugs in the first place. Time and time again these games are released full of bugs, and time and time again fans are dissatisfied due to not being able to fully enjoy the game without encountering a bug. I dont know if anybody is a guest of the site the-new-lagoon.com but on this site, games are discussed, normally when chaotics games are released, people notify eachother on the discussion boards and point out issues. I'm not sure if chaotic uses this site, if u don't, I recommend you do, because criticism is always just a window for improvement. on this site ive seen the creators of "a date with Amy" "life with keely", and so forth claim that they have offered to work with you to help you put. as a fan of both your work and there's, if you get offers with help to improve your games, then why don't you? And don't get me wrong, I Do enjoy your games, but they are becoming repetitive due to the fact that you don't take your fans' opinions into consideration. ya, you fixed the characters eyes for ur new game, but we're not satisfied with the looks if these ladies, it's the gameplay and storylines that need improvement. |
| Posted By: agreed Posted On: Mar 25, 2012 Views: 1283 | agreed Agreed. Chaotic gets the job done. It's a lot easier to say "I would have done x" than to do so. Chaotic does not just x, but y & z; and then updates to fix bugs. He does awesome work. People who complain about free stuff are pathetic. |
