I also think it's pretty crappy to be hearing someone continually pointing out how intolerant other posters are and pretending to have some sort of pyschological insight. If Brad wrote a storyline having Brooke and her sisters taken to some Islamic country and put behind burkahs and treated as awfully as women are treated I have a hard time believing I would see the same sort of slamming of THAT culture as I'm seeing for those who just don't happen to want to see a cultural lifestyle that offends them brought to a soap they've supported. Want to talk about intolerance? There is a darn good case here for the bigotry against Christians and those who try to pretend that they are protecting the rights of gays,right when the country has our first amendment being thrown out by legislation that forces BRAD'S religion to pay for contraception, is either dumb dumb dumb or hypocritical. This soap was initially written by practicing Catholics. THere is no reason to suppose that quite a few Catholics were not original fans. Given that, and given that we never heard Bell Sr. knock his religion there is a HUGE reason to feel betrayed about a gay storyline. Just because others besides Catholics got on board doesn't mean that Catholic AND Christian viewers, there from the start, shouldn't feel free to have THEIR views represented. Nickygirl, if you don't think that those who disagree with you have a right to say so without you calling them the nastiest stuff, I'd say you have some soul searchin' to do. I can have like everybody and not want their lifestyle shoved in my face on a soap I used to watch for escape to man/woman romance. Message boards used to be a fun way to talk to different fans and now all we have are people saying nasty things to others, pretending that someone ELSE is trying to impose oppression. From where I see you just want everyone who doesn't agree with you to have no voice. Newsflash, we're an audience with different views. the audience that paid for this soap. Aging and screen hog soft porn stars and cheaper less talented young actors do not a great soap make. Brad, quit already and just go write some soft porn films. you have the dollars, thanks to us. |

Some have been begging for gay stories for years and now when they have what I heard is a nice love story between two women raising a daughter together, they are STILL not satisfied. Others are writing things like "THose who are going to like a gay storyline that Bradley writes are going to be activist gays for porn or porn addicted straights", and expect people to look at them as tolerant. The point is that Bill Bell wrote romance well and Brooke fans, some of them, understood that their sex goddess was popular because there was a balanced component of family and romantic love characters and stories that offset the erotic/adolescent 'LUV' Bridge shoved down our throats. With it being KKL/RM 24/7 and the two of them more brazenly asking for even MORE storyline AND unfortunately being exposed as overbearing to fans and to writers, there is little question that the only excuse for the two of them not being restrained from ruining the soap is that they are hand in hand with Brad in wanting to take the show in a soft porn direction. No romance = spiraling ratings. You can call out people as being anti-gay or spew lies about Christian bigotry (in any form of disaster or need testimony after testimony discloses a Christian is the #1 neighbor desired to be there) but your attacks are more self-exposing of intolerance than otherwise. |

A hate crime against a homosexual is no worse than a hate crime against a heterosexual and when you call yourself out as MORE deserving than other humans you are pretty much saying you are BETTER than other humans. Got it? I do not hate homosexuals. I hate that they give in to their sexual temptation because at least three times in history the continuation of the human species has been put at risk by the influence of all out sex in a culture, when the innocence of children must fall to an agenda to have five year olds learn about sex and when parents are told that they have no say in when their children's innocence will be stolen from them. Is that the gay's fault. Heck no. It's a society that is so crazed with sexualizing everything (Hello "NO ROMANCE" Brad...Sound familiar?) that a group of people who were until 65 years ago acknowledged as having a biological disorder, now are told that not only are they normal but they are their own identity and they are even so superior that any crimes against them need to be prosecuted BEYOND the full extent of the law. Excuse me for knowing a little history and knowing that at least 2 cultures died or came to the brink because of the culture of sex over morality, accelerated by all out encouragement of homosexual license. Gays are pawns. They are being played like the rest of us because lawyers and sex pandering millionaires (Hello BRadley) want to empty gays' better filled wallets with gay divorce lawsuits and over the top lawsuits for 'gay hate' crimes. How does this tie into the show? ALL news has admitted that O only came out about gay marriage this week for political reasons. ARguably, Bradley is doing the same thing, only not for political reasons, for soft porn reasons. tgtsing, I don't know if you know who you say you know, but enough of your sentiments echo with me that I have less problem with that than with the apparent need to attack you. And you, not being gay, cannot scream for preferential treatment of dealing with 'hate' speech. |
