IMF deal

All am saying is that this country better get it right, the prime minister better start creating some jobs because one thing is for sure, I am tired of sitting at home and no job...spending so much money and so many years studying and only to be out here not working...I better start seeing some jobs, because bills dont get paid with thin air, and if i have no job you guys better start locking down because if it means killing to stay alive and stealing, u guys better fix this bull in this country else there will be one dead body from hands, a broken store or wholesale evryday...fix this PM

Will there be an IMF deal in 2013?

I know leaving this poll up was accidental. But it is still relevant in the new year. Will there be an IMF deal in 2013?

IMF

Deal marker or breaker IMF wants something in exchange for resources. It's great to borrow money to invest but without careful planning it can be wasted. The U.S.A borrows money as well for investment, and has to be accountable for it.
Like many of the other comments indicate, we can do this without IMF. The goals needs to be realigned centrally. Accountabilty, and ownership of the process needs to be in place, and transparent. Use our resources, under the right conditions, we have endless access to these resources. Try self reliance, it can be taught and modeled. Individual needs can sometimes interfers with the goals of the country. We decreased farming and the needs are great for such resource. Taxes are one way of collecting revenues, and thats not being done well to me. I do see too many tax breaks for large companies. We need to stop selling ourselves short and streamline this process to make our country independent. Explain basic terms, and clearly state why revenues are necessary. I can't think of another country than Jamaica that's capable of getting this redesign done. We need to take ownership and believe that we can do this for our country, self and families. Lets go Jamaica, believe country first.

Why Are Jamaicans Retarded?

Just read the story of Dudley J. Thompson, while reading the story I got a phone call from a friend about some dumbass yardi stabbing an innocent bystander because he stepped on his shoes. Guess which image is generally reflected around the world?

Why do Jamaicans encourage these retards and denegrate true heroes? What is it about thugs and drug dealers that excite loyalty to uneducated simpletons who probably earn less than minimum wage?

Come on Jamaicans get real and stop giving these dumbasses the time of day. The age of gunman and ghetto youths are over it is time to raise your eyes to bigger and greater things.

Jamaica does NOT need to borrow any more money..Why can we not be self sufficent? Other countries in the Caribbean are smaler than us and richer than us.. Barbados being one that spring to mind easily.. We can grow our own, produce things for ourselves.. I would love to live in JA full time..but live in England.. The policitian needs to come together and make a stronger Jamaica..

no imf deal

Jamaicans does not need any new IMF deals. If they do they are only creating a havoc in allowing portia simpson to become richer, while they continue to be poor.

Wealth Creation-- Is It Possible?

To Principals and Business Instructors:
Topic: Wealth Creation-Is it possible?
Wealth creation is easy if you know how.Sad to say this is not being taught in our schools today.Every year thousands of students left school without the hope of a better lifestyle.
We are training our children on how to get a job, instead of training them on how to create wealth. While a job is good, it does not, and will not solve our economical problems here in Jamaica. A job will only allow them to pay the bills, sometimes. If you were to embark on a Wealth Creation program in your school you could empower those same students, who don't seem to have any hope on a path to wealth.
As a child going to school, i learned about Marco Polo as an explorer; What i didn't learn was that Marco Polo was a business man trading in silk from Cathay, (now known as China)and how i could become a Marco Polo. My point, teach our students to become Marco Polo the businessman.
How can this be done, firstly, do an audit of the books in your school. See if they cater to the needs of the students, secondly, populate your library with books on wealth creation that offer in them, business opportunities and thirdly, give them the tools to achieve this. We are living in a Technology driven society and we should make the best use of the technology at our disposal.
Yes, wealth creation is possible-you just have to know how.
Teach the students how to create jobs for those people who want jobs, yes, some people do want jobs. In doing this, they will not only create wealth for themselves but also for their families and by extension the country.
I hope this article will be of some use to you. If you find it useful please pass it on someone else.

IMF

Jamaican government is not deserving of another IMF loan. It is utterly ridiculous that the government can find 62 million dollars to buy brand new, top of the line, cars for the ministers; yet, we have a failing education system, out medical system is almost non-existent, and our economy is spiralling out of control. The IMF giving this administration another loan is like throwing water into a soak-away pit, it just wont make a different. There is not accountability; until we implement some regulations, that are enforceable and punishable by law, that compel responsible governmental spending and hold individual government agencies and ministers accountable, there will be no effort by the government to change. Over 43% of the people in the country live below the poverty line (2.5 USD per day) and unemployment rate at above 12%. The middle class is slowing deteriorating, dissolving into the lower class. Many persons within the government needs to be imprisoned, or at least thrown out of Parliament

this is pure madness for such an island to be in debt and having to beg the imf for more money i wish jamaica would take a stand and go back to the drawing board, and come back stronger than ever. #prayinforabetterjamaica.

p.s.......
founder of the W.A.S.P (working to achieve star pupils) foundation bringing school supplies to the communities that are less fortunate. i desend on my mission every summer this year it was kent village, st.Catherine. Email me to make a donation or to lead me to a community that needs such gifts, helping to provide these supplies can lessen the burden of a mother that has to send 2 children to school....... we must help Jamaica and pray for a better future so we can have brighter leaders

IMF

Of course they can sign an IMF agreement anytime, its just that they are so ashamed of what they would have to sign. They made it harder for themselves after hikng taxes on everything, phone foods, electricity, m/vehicles, even clearing a barrel, to buy themselves time until they sign They are still running the country on Petro-Caribe funds, NHT, and NIR. They are a clueless lot and everytime they take over this country they set us back, and this time its the worst it has been.

I do not think Jamaica will pull off the deal because they are other issues that the IMF wants us to do that falls outside of our society. I believe that they want us to slacken our laws on homosexuality and have a six day working week.
