slfs strike action

It is sad that st lucians refuse to get informed about what is truly going on in the fire service. An entity which provides such a crucial service to the public should never be neglected so much that it had to lead to this situation. One million dollars of tax payers money spent on a commission of inquiry and not one recommendation implemented after more than a year. And now their association is deemed null and void!?! Personally, I believe that this action was taken too late and the fire fighters should stand their ground until something substantial comes out it. Not just another inquiry done to keep them quiet for one year. Stand firm and fight for your rights!!!

Smart is as smart says

@sido I can tell that you were taught from obsolete school books. Such a poor state of affairs when people who are schooled are unable to present rational arguments...here is your F-.

new school books + no jobs

we have a unemployment rate of 25% plus xxx students every who finished secondary school with no hope to find a job even the education they have is good.
What sense it make to introduce new schoolbooks when after leaving school are no jobs available? Its just a waist of money and a painful heavy burden on the people.

bread

Im not sure they did anything to prevent it, and the idea that one can just say we raising this or we raising that i have a serious problem it. you can look for you increase but i think the government has to look their expenditure by what they asking for and then decide. If they are allowed to just say we want this and get it without or little intervention from the government then others will be left to follow that precedent.

??? TRANSPARENCY

on tv everyone could see how a independent senator asked for missing details on the 20 mill bill how the money would be spend.
The reply of one of our ministers was that it was allways that way and its good so. The bill passed.
In other words it can be any amount of xxx mill $ and no details given where the money go.
If this is the normal case I think its time to practice more transparency.

The father Quinlan issue.

I have, for some time now heard about what was referred to as inappropriate behavior of father Quinlan. Yesterday I was told that the inappropriate behavior was swear swords. All along yhe church through their tone has led persons to believe that the behavior involved sexual misconduct with the man, nearly ruining his reputation. I don't condone swearing, but if provoked or upset enough it can happen. I think the church needs to come out and clear the air in order to salvage whats left of his tarnished reputation.

citizenship

we seem not to have enough give away,s to the hotels, when a government invites foreigners to sell them citizenship they become another government in the country, and because of the help they gave to the country they become boss they cannot be touch inspite of putting strict measure in place they still find their way to buy out the government.Saint Lucia is the largest economy right now in the region there is absolutely no need to go that way, they have squandered resources in the past and now they are smelling the coffee, all the useless borrowings which did not for the country they need to find it now.

where is the protest voice of the church when Hotel and Tourism Association try to advertise ST.Lucia as a gay tourism country?
where is proud of ST.Lucia when the country selling citizenship for money?
is this all what the people in leadership positions can produce?
