Holding back...

Spider-Man wasn't really presented as holding back against the Kingpin. Any time I hear someone say that, it's a sure sign that their "knowledge" of the early Kingpin is mostly derived from the Handbook, or the non-canon Spider-Man Adventures series, rather than the original 616 stories.

Balttle is not close

This battle is nowhere near as close as the vote says, man ape should demolish the kingpin in a fight, the kingpin only gave Spider-Man battles because Spider-Man was unwilling to go there with a non powered opponent

I'm going to disagree with Maximum Man here

because prior to gaining the power, he was the second best warrior in Wakanda, with only the Black Panther better...

He beat Black Panther at least once, though he was beaten by Cap.

He's stronger and more durable than Kingpin on average IMO, though the differential may not be that significant ( I consider Kingpin slightly superhuman), and I'd say skill levels are somewhat comparable (Kingpin is actually a pretty good combatant), so I give Man Ape the edge, but its a good, competitive fight iMO.

Man-Ape vs Kingpin.

I'm gonna give a slight edge to Kingpin despite Man-Ape being stronger. Only because Man-Ape didn't seem to be particularly skillful using his strength. He was arrogant and just assumed he wins because of his strength.

I can see Kingpin using that to his advantage.
