Great add!

Quality closer will be bring a quality starter. Greinke would be great! Cueto wouldn't be bad, but Greinke would be way better. Open the checkbook and let's get another series win!! Go sox!

Trade

I think it's a great move!! Without a quality closer we are just setting ourselves up for another last place finish. We just need to add an ace and we are back in the race

Rizzo

@Brad... I must admit it would be nice to see Rizzo playing 1B for the Red Sox.

Trades are hit or miss. Let's hope the prospects sent to San Diego don't turn into a regret down the road.

The Red Sox traded some guy named Jeff Bagwell back in the day too.

They need to stop trading their 1B prospects lol.

Kimbrell trade

Hey Dude! At least take a minute and see what the professional baseball people are saying about this trade! Im a fan! I hope it works out! Its just a really high price for a reliever. But it will probably take at least 5 years to see this trade clearly. I certainly enjoyed watching Rizzo in the Series!

Kimbrel Trade

The only name that stings in the prospects given up for Kimbrel is Margot....

Dombrowski made the deal without parting with the best of the best in the farm system.

Rafael Devers, Yoan Moncada, and Anderson Espinoza remain Red Sox property. So too does Andrew Benintendi, this year’s No. 1 pick who is rocketing toward the bigs.

Seeing names like Swihart, Betts or Rodriguez get traded would surely send a lynch mob to Davey D's doorstep.

It's now time to focus on adding that Ace that our beloved Red Sox lack and looking forward to watching Uehara and Kimbrel close out games in the 8th and 9th innings.

We should all be excited about the talent the Red Sox still have and be thankful that we finally have a GM in place who isn't afraid to make a move to better the team for the immediate and foreseeable future.

Dave Dombrowski made some great moves with the Tigers but funny how the one thing that hurt them was their bullpen.... We no longer have to worry about that in Boston.

That's my 2 1/2 Cents worth...

Anyone else care to share their thoughts?

Aroldis Chapman Vs Kimbrel

Why trade for Chapman who would be a free agent after 1 year when you can get 3 years of control for Kimbrel. They are both in their prime.

The prospects given up were good, however 2 of them were blocked by Bogaerts and Betts. The Red Sox didn't trade their top young talent (Devers, Yoan Moncada, Benintendi, etc) and no major league talent.

They can now focus on adding an ace via free agency.

Shoring up the Bullpen was a need as Koji Uehara will be 41 this year and isn't a sure lock to be healthy all season.

I can see them going after David Price, Zack Greinke or Jordan Zimmerman to solidy the top of their rotation.

Kimbrell trade

Chapman would have been considerably cheaper! Even this trade could have got done with the likes of Castillo and Vazquez, both of which will ge gone in 2 years. The 4 prospects used could have got a much better starter than Porcello. San Diego got the better of this one, and once again the Sox get a player headed downhill!
